Re: Arizona State will not be joining the Big Ten
Bear in mind that Miami's arena seats 3,200, while BG has 5,000 seats. Miami has also been out of the national spotlight recently, and that affects attendance everywhere. The numbers are avg. attendance, not total. Their avg. attendance also dropped last year, when they were in the spotlight with a...

Re: Arizona State will not be joining the Big Ten
umm...surely you understand that BGSU no longer has Notre Dame, Michigan, and Michigan St. on the schedule either. yet BG's attendance has been rising in the WCHA, playing against schools like Lake State and Ferris, and BG's avg. attendance was higher than Miami's this year. ouch. What's wrong down ...

Re: Arizona State will not be joining the Big Ten
In addition to the entry fee demanded by the Nachos, Schlossman confirms the massive buyout to leave the NCHC. According to multiple sources, the buyout equates to a year of the league’s operating expenses. Right now, that’s roughly $1.5 million. It also requires a 24-month notice. If it’s less, the...

Re: Arizona State will not be joining the Big Ten
Really surprised how many people are pushing aside the NCHC. Top half of the conference makes the NCAAs every season, we'd be back in a conference with our MAC breathern, and you'd get to see teams like North Dakota and Minnesota-Duluth every season. North Dakota didn't even play in Oxford this sea...

Re: Arizona State will not be joining the Big Ten
IF there is to be another addition to NCHC, I think the short list is Mankato, and maybe Tech. I honestly do not believe that BG has a shot if this were to happen. Mankato and BGSU both make sense, although let's hope BGSU would tell 'em to bugger off. Tech will never happen--the Nachos went to a l...

ahh, that explains why Miami and Western's attendance has been nosediving in the NCHC.Lord_Byron wrote:That clinches it.
Why would anyone pass up the opportunity to join a conference with a Roku app?

Re: Simon Fraser going Division I.
I wonder how quickly SFU could become pretty good. There would probably be some NCAA recruits from B.C. who would rather stay near home. they'd have a terrific recruiting base, and could ramp it up pretty quickly. on the other hand, when they were here...we outshot them 61-13. :-D plus if they join...

Our AD job is a bear, always has been. So we'll probably keep sending the good ones on to better/easier jobs. Best wishes to CK, he was a good one.
but we'll be fine, especially the hockey program.
