Re: James Morgan
guest, Chris Kingston hired Mike Jinks. Himself. The other person involved in approving the hire was our President at the time. That's how it was done at the time. You will recall that was fairly quick search and certainly an out the box move. The AD hires coaches. Some ADs use different people's in...

Re: James Morgan
Bob Moosbrugger nor the current President had anything to do with hiring Coach Jinks. Zero part. None. The only argument- at our level of school- is whether he could have been released after 2017. There is no other argument. And given the University's situation then, it would have been a very diffic...

Re: James Morgan
Bob Moosbrugger has done an outstanding job in multiple areas during his almost four year tenure. Starting with a mid year dismissal of Coach Jinks. Not a common occurrence here but needed. You want Coach Huger as the Men's Basketball Coach at BG. He does things the right way and I will leave it at ...

Re: Nice road win!!
I like our grit. To fight through without our best and most proven offensive player throughout the season is a testimony to our players and coaches. We are working well together, playing hard and coaching hard. Hopefully, our injured sr will return for conference play and lend a hand. Our returners ...

Re: Contact the coach!
hi way, there are so many moving pieces here. It is possible the student-athlete plays a position DB/WR where we are full for 20. It is possible his film etc was reviewed and we decided to go another direction even though he is a good player. It is possible our coaches did indeed reach out to his HS...

Re: Defense takes yet another hit with another transfer
Relax 44 :) The last thing we need is a meeting. The players know what is expected. They know what the program expectations and goals are. The staff has communicated clearly. The players as a group are hungry for coaching, discipline or higher bar in all areas and a chance to build a winner. If you ...

Re: Attack Attack Attack Trainwreck Trainwreck Trainwreck
guest, the AD hires the head football coach. He or she would receive help from people like the President in the final decision. Others in the dept might be involved at some level, but the AD makes that hire with the approval of folks above him or her- not below. That is how it works. I have no idea ...

Re: Attack Attack Attack Trainwreck Trainwreck Trainwreck
We need to get better on the football field. Winning games. We must turn things around on the field. We have to fix it. And all you have to do is look at 2013, 14 and 15 and know we can to do it right here. I am sure we can do better as an Athletic Dept too. But I am totally mystified by reading stu...

Re: James Morgan
Gee whiz hiway. Coach Jinks was extremely supportive of James as he evaluated his personal situation re football and James extremely supportive of the BG program right through his graduation day. Coach even let James attend spring practices as a sideline observer and encourager. Let's not confuse ex...

Re: Projected Men’s Basketball Schedule
mbenecke I hear you say re the J term. On campus students will not be around for those games. Got that. Here is what I say. Our students need to SHOW for the earlier and later games. Period. No excuse. No this or that. Not who is the opponent etc. Students go to hockey games. Which I love. Go to the...

Re: Spring game reports
The abbreviated game benefitted the team, but it also served to connect the families and student-athletes at this point late in the semester. Excellent crowd of family, friends, area coaches and recruits. Offensively, the scrimmage showcased Doege for a couple of series. Scotty Miller can play- we k...

Re: VS EMU Eagles
Lotta posts when we play poorly. Many fewer when we play well. One sr who was a walk on Our top performing jr had one offer. Other jr suspended- properly- for first third of season. Sophs and freshmen w key minutes all over. Once again Coach draws winning/tying play out of time out. And we execute i...

D Wiggins is a true team leader in his own way, a top character guy, a hard worker in practice and weight room, truly cares about his academics and represents his family, his team and our university in a first class manner. Every day. His progress from the day he moved in til today on the court has ...

Re: Lewis arrested for OVI
NFL wants guys who can make that catch. And Roger can make those plays. He has made tough catches and big time plays from age 17 til this afternoon. He can win the ball even at his size. Ball skills matter; he has them. Roster make up etc is key and it's a tough business. But those catches that win ...

Re: BG vs Miami: Gameday
Coaches were screaming for him to get down but the sideline is very chaotic when something like that fumble/scoop occurs. The coaches instantly recognized that he needed to get down (Miami had only one time out) but he couldn't hear. And his teammates were in escort mode. And the bench was just whoo...
