If you look at these match-ups it really has more to do with geography than anything else. Michigan-Michigan St. is obvious. Everything else is all about what the shortest drive is.

The thing is an ice arena is sort of like a public good. It's the kind of thing that everyone wants, but no one wants to pay for directly - like a road. True, there are people that run private ice arenas, but a lot of them lose there shirts doing so.

I try to send right in the corner so I can see straight down the near side boards and behind the net. Ideally right up against the orange railings. I've always felt that gives me the best vantage point possible.
