Re: .......after 5 games

Thank you, pardonfan. I was not really thinking about the merit of our record, just the record. I will gladly bank a tenuous 3 - 2 record with a new coach before I would settle for 0 - 5 with same. Is a 3 - 2 record come-what-may better than a 2 - 3 record where at least our standards conformed to c...

Re: .......after 5 games

After 5 games...... we're on top of the MAC East. Can't we give this 2014 squad some slack? This morning ESPN reports BGSU is 3 - 2 including a .500 record against Big Ten opponents and BGSU is sitting on top of the MAC East on my web page, all this without a starting quarterback, so many injuries w...

Re: Your BGSU Cheerleaders and video link

What a remarkable accomplishment! As my daughter shows the clip to all her school friends its rather cool knowing it isn't some brand name that you see on t-shirts around here, but BGSU. I hope this made front page somewhere out there in North West Ohio!

NFL comes to Wembley

I took my daughter to her first ever football game yesterday in London to see the Rams "play host" to the Patriots, or as she thought the banner read - The New England "Parrots". The NFL looks like it is hell bent on establishing a franchise by hook or by crook in London. There w...

Re: 2012 Olympic Games

Japan's ambassador to Britain was aghast that a nation would purport to throw their monarch from a helicopter without a parachute, as we did during the opening show. To ambassaor, Japan's "symbol of State" is its monarchy. It would be inconceivable to treat his symbol of State so. Quite a ...

Re: The Royal Wedding...

Well, yes, h20ville, and thank you very much for asking! I am still going up and down the mountains, all the more happily knowing that my nieghbour William is patrolling the slopes from his vantage point in a very cool and very yellow search and rescue helicopter. There is life outside London, you s...

Re: The Royal Wedding...

That is a fascinating proposition, h20ville. I am sure the chances of you getting a permanent UK residency visa (and consequentially the rest of the European Community member States!) on the strength of your wit alone could be very, very good.

Re: Details on tonight's announcement...

I wish my relatives who played such a part in bringing me to BGSU were here to catch this news - the "Doyt" era notwithstanding, basketball was always "the one" for "Uncle Don". For BGSU as a whole, this is such eye watering news every way one looks at it. My heartfelt ...

Re: Ryder Cup

Still here, and no gloating - I am a cultured sort as you would expect from any BGSU type. Nothing to do with performance - this one was down to weather. I climb mountains for fun in that weather every day of the week, and when I saw pictures of team USA fending off our light showers huddled under u...

Re: The World Cup

I wonder why Fifa didn't give players more time to get used to the new ball they introduced for this tournament. I don't think it is a coincidence that goal scoring has been unspectacular in this tournament, and yet in the later stages we see goals going in from 43 yards at 60mph from the Dutch, and...

Re: The World Cup

The Dutch are now 24 games unbeaten and have won nine in a row. Remember Holland's "total football" of the 1970's when they scored at will with line drives from about 75 yards? More like "totally awesome football". I bet Johann Cruyff fancies a Netherlands/Germany final. Me too. ...

Re: The World Cup

Nice perspective, '61. I notice Fifa didn't apologize to team USA, but at least they will look at goal line tech after the current competition:
