I remember being in school in 2001 and being relieved when Dakich pulled a 'Bobby Cremmins' and came back after a couple days at WVU. Now here I am covering the Mountaineers, being around the team on a daily basis, and I'm thinking the exact same thing. I'm glad he's not here because this WVU team w...

When the WVU schedule was released recently, we heard rumblings about Buffalo trying to back out. If Ball State is added as the replacement, that might leave an opening on the Mountaineers schedule for 2007 as there is a WVU-BSU game listed. Hopefully WVU does get a MAC replacement as the Wofford ga...

"I got a very nice offer from Glenville State, which is a Division II school in West Virginia and another from an NAIA school, Urbana," Jones said. He should have gone to Glenville. They're a team with a very high powered offense. Their QB set a bunch of records this past season and his b...

The player in question is John Stewart, who played for the Falcons in 1972-73 and 1973-74.

He appeared in two games with the Quebec Nordiques in 1979-80 tallying no goals, no assists and no penalty minutes.

Re: hotels in the area

If you want some good Chicken Wings right by the Stadium is Duffs Restaurant. It is about a mile away from the stadium, and a lot of people around here say Duffs is better then the Anchor Bar where Chicken Wings were invented. Even if you aren't sticking around for the game you should order them to...

How about the fact that our kickoffs are being caught at about the 20 every time? Short kickoffs will eventually burn you.

That does suck. I did the 'Falcon Focus' segement the first year of Falcon Football with Urban Meyer and the experience was amazing. In fact, the most impressive line on my resume when I got my current job was "Feature Reporter - Fox Sports Ohio". I can see the production costs being a rea...

Oh how I hope he's wrong about the team. I can't stand the Dolphins, and even Omar wouldn't be able to change that.

Yes I do understand that these are this guy's predictions and are in no way close to accurate as the draft order for 2006 may not even be right. I just hope Omar doesn't go to Miami.

I got that set at a Lids in the Charlotte Airport last September on my way home from covering the WVU/UCF game. The sales guy was quizzing me on the teams, when I told him I went to a MAC school, he understood how I got them all right. I remember buying the set because there were no Marshall or UCF ...

Too bad I didn't see the question sooner, as I knew that one. During the press conference in Morgantown, he gave credit to his daughter for getting Hostetler to transfer from Penn State. "My daughter winked at a Penn State player, and we ended up getting a good quarterback." All still live...

This was the BG story the SID had for me. Nehlen had a lot of good things to say about BG today at the press conference in Morgantown. He made mention of the Falcons a number of times. Afterwards when I went up and congratulated, I told him I always saw his picture in the Ice Arena lobby. A large sm...

As a Bills fan, all I have to say is Josh Reed couldn't catch a cold. He had a huge bowl game, and that got him drafted as high as he was.

Good luck Hawk, it'd be nice to see a Falcon play in WNY.

Looking at the future WVU schedule on my desk, my guess is that this game will be in 2008 at the earliest. West Virginia has Ball State, Maryland, East Carolina and Mississippi State on the schedule for 2007. With tomorrow's announcment, you can add Marshall to that as well. 2008 has Maryland, Villa...

What makes me think that it won't be in 2006 is that WVU and Marshall are announcing a six game series starting in '06 on Tuesday. That gives WVU five Non-Conference games that season (Maryland, Buffalo, East Carolina and Mississippi State are the others). Add that to the seven Big East games they p...
