Re: Transfer Portal 2024-25
Now we’ll see how many players enter the portal… I would assume quite a few more will do so. I’m pretty connected to the NIL landscape at BGSU, so I hear different figures of what players are offered/take. - As I stated earlier, Wollschlaeger received around $500K to go along with his choice of a l...

Re: 2023 rule changes
not a fan of #3 The middle-ground to me is obvious in that you employ a running clock in blowout games, much like is done in high school games. This will fundamentally change how a majority of schools will play the game. Only do it the last two minutes of a half. College football games have gotten ...

Re: 2020 schedule changes to come?
Don't know how you can claim Act of God, but still play other teams. I am sure BG will get some money, but not the 2.2mil owed to them by the Big10 teams.

Re: McDonald Waiver
I think it was ludicrous and patently unfair to "tighten the rules" after approving two power school transfers. Like Tarkaninan said: "The NCAA got so mad at Kentucky, they gave Cleveland State two extra years of probation." The NCAA, where the rules are made up, and applied arb...

Re: McDonald Waiver
Tough decision for Hoffman and VT but.. that five miles made the difference. Also read somewhere they mentioned him not leaving right away as a factor too. The problem with the transfer system right now is it is all arbitrary. No rules or standards are set and available to understands what qualifie...

Re: 2019 MAC Preseason Poll
Football is a losing proposition long-term for all the mid-majors as long as there's no access to the playoff. The MAC and Sun Belt have sold their souls to ESPN for such a small piece of the revenue pie just to try and stay afloat. The bubble is going to burst at some point in the future, especial...

Re: 2019 MAC Preseason Poll
Toledo wins because they consistently recruit talent and play easy non-conference schedules which gets momentum rolling for them early that they maintain. Scheduling has nothing to do with this. The best team we ever had here played two ranked Big Ten teams in September. That team was stacked and a...

App State is another potential candidate for the AAC. UAB could be one as well. Both schools has excellent fan support for football.

Ranked 1st from 12th.... a year ago (in the MAC) !! 9 - 3 Star Recruits 8 - 2 Star Recruits This staff deserves huge recognition for the effort they have done in their first year recruiting!! :supz: The real tale is told by the star average. BG is right at about 80.0 now, just slightly behind Weste...

Re: Transfer Watch
Great to see Junior landing at Power 5 school. Good for him. I hate being a farm club for P5 schools though. I'm getting really irritated by this too. He redshirted at BG back in 2015, so instead of BG getting a seasoned, proven player that developed here that it desperately needs, Oklahoma State n...

How are student athletes the losers? A free six-figure education, housing, training table like no other, personal trainers, health insurance, tutors, gear, travel, and often part-time/summer jobs with school or alumni. At Power 5 conferences they get the chance to display their skills to their next...

Re: Pelini is leaving...
Coaches have no loyalty to the schools. Why should the athlete be forced to stay at any university if recruited by that coach. This is why kids need to pick the school and not a coach. There is way too much movement in college football, assistants are constantly moving around. Florida just lost the...
