Re: BG - Northern 1st Round Game

I'm sorry.........but I'm gonna say it: Coach Orr should keep his post-game press conference comments SECULAR, and not SACRED.

I admire the man, but Coach Orr needs to commit to being a college coach PROFESSIONAL, and not view a press conference as being a time to pontificate his PERSONAL beliefs.

Re: Can we finally PLEASE beat Akron at home?!?!?!

Hearing Coach Orr's opening statement at the press conference after the game was absolutely painful. And pitiful.

Wednesday Night Games

Scores from tonight: Toledo 58, Akron 49 Central Michigan 100, Miami 84 Ohio 68, Ball State 59 and: Eastern Michigan 75, Kent State 66 (Kent loses at home!) Interestingly, 3 out of the 4 winning teams are from the WEST division. Kent State and BG now tied for the EAST lead with 6-3 records. Toledo a...

Re: BG v NIU

gmartin - - I thought it was her KNEE that got tweaked at the end of the Syracuse game, not ankle. Regardless, I hope that the end of yesterday's game restores the confidence. Alumni Day on Saturday in Anderson would be a great day to have the renewed LP back to break the all-time scoring record wit...

Re: BG v NIU

Fully realizing that Coach M. is the master of overstatement, I am STILL curious as to his post-game interview in which he says that Lauren has "a major foot issue." I can understand the "two banged-up knees" phrase that immediately preceded that, but any knowledge out there abou...

Re: Mid Majors To Watch

Where/when did Rebecca L. do her "top 5 mid-majors to watch"?

I can't find a link on the ESPN Women's BB home page.

6 MORE TO REACH 2,000!

Lauren Prochaska only needs six more points to reach 2,000 points in her storied BGSU career. And, only 129 more to break the all-time scoring record held by Jackie Motycka. Let's see......I feel the urge for some math: 129 more points divided by 14 more league games is a mere 9.2 points per game. B...

Re: Interesting Marketing Idea

I have read about other universities hosting the "day game" with local schools attending, but unfortunately - - in this day and age of high-stakes standardized testing - - school systems will NOT permit field trips that are not directly related to the Ohio Content Standards, and thus - - r...

Re: Women's Basketball in the U.S.

Wasn't the women's BB program one of around 15 programs awarded a "marketing scholarship" through the NCAA this past summer to help improve attendance? I thought I read about that somewhere. I wonder what that will look like and when it begins?

Re: A Ho Ho Ho Hum win: 82-59

Tonite's attendance was a prime example of the student attendance issue. We had 1,400-some attending tonight - - during a break of the university! When the university is IN session, and assuming all the folks who were there tonight game attend - - shouldn't we AT LEAST have 600 students come to the ...

MARIST KICKS SOME AS-PIRING BIG SCHOOLS' HOPES

The small, but mighty Red Foxes from Marist beat Louisville on Friday and then ranked Nebraska on Sunday in the "Duel in the Desert" Las Vegas tournament this past weekend. Coach Miller commented in a Tweet that 9 mid-majors won over power conference teams this weekend. Hooray, mid-majors!...

Re: OUCH!!!!

Thanks Houstonfan, for your post. I totally understand why the top-25 teams don't want to play us. And while this question has been bantered about before, I'll ask again: how about some of the perennial mid-major powers? I would just LOVE to have ANNUAL out-of-conference games with folks like Marist...
