Dan Bylsma on HBO's 24/7
I'm not sure if anyone here has seen it, but HBO is doing a behind-the-scenes documentary on the Penguins and Capitals called 24/7 leading up to the Winter Classic. The first episode featured a lot of Byslma and even gave a little bit of background on his playing and coaching career. It's a pretty a...

Re: NCAA Hockey Bracket
I don't think I've seen two complete thrashings like that ever in two national semifinal games in any sport. It couldn't have happened to a classier crew at MU either. I'm glad to once again see their National Championship hopes come crashing down in an epic and embarrassing fashion. The finals shou...

Re: Short Week: Short Game Thread
Uh, dude? They didn't say BG was full of kids with STDs, they were actually saying the opposite. If that's the case, then I just misread the tone/sarcasm of his second sentence, which is easy to do over the internet. Either way, he still reinforces my point with his comment about how much money he'...

Re: Short Week: Short Game Thread
Of course, as you inadvertently noted, that's because YOU grew up in a rich suburb populated by families who buy their offspring expensive cars. Miami is a uniform monoculture of rich kids like BG is populated exclusively by STD-riddled sheep-shaggers. As for this Allen County native, I've said bef...

Re: Short Week: Short Game Thread
I really wonder what some of you individuals do to put yourselves in situations where you feel that you have been violated by opposing fans, or why someone else is classless. I've been to so many sporting events and never had these experiences, I wonder if some of you are either instigating the rea...

Re: Short Week: Short Game Thread
2nd! Grew up 30 minutes from Miami and most of my graduating class went there too... Most of them honestly believe they are better than everyone else, in every respect... I 100% agree with you on the the fact that the majority of Miami students think that they're better than everyone else. I grew u...

Re: Todd Mcilrath
That's good to hear that he's having some success after BG. He was always one of my favorite players during his time here because he played all out on every shift and left it all out on the ice. It's a shame he couldn't enjoy more success with the Falcons.

Re: Dan Sexton assigned to Manitoba
Sexton pulled off a pretty nasty move in a shootout against San Antonio the other night. Click on the highlights for the February 6th game and fast forward to around 3:16 of the video to see it.

That's such a sad story. I'm not a fan of Brian Burke or Miami University but Brendan seemed like a good kid who had a great life ahead of him.

Re: Dan Sexton assigned to Manitoba
His NHL audition def. went pretty well, hopefully he'll get called up at another point this year. Eighteen points in twenty-eight games is pretty impressive for any rookie, but even more impressive for an undrafted college free agent who essentially went directly from the ECHL to the NHL. Even if he...

Re: From LA to Ann Arbor With Love...
I don't know how a GM could say something like that about one of his players. Especially a guy that he gave up a decent amount in a trade to get before the kid even played in the NHL, assuming Lombardi was the one that made that trade. Johnson hasn't exactly lived up to expectations in the NHL thoug...

Re: I know this is about our Falcons but...
To my knowledge no one has ever jumped from white division to D1, not that it could not happen, but the reality is for Ohio HS hockey players is that roughly one player every 6 years goes on to play in the NCAA ( no one has made the jump from HS to the NCAA in several years, over 10 in fact) ( next...

Currently, in 24 games he has 65 goals and 42 assists. This is not a misprint or typo. 107 points. :prayer: :supz: =D> :smt103 . I wonder how that competition would compare to AA or A level. I know that back in the day when I played, Varsity High School was roughly the equivalent of Midg...

Re: World Jr championships
Insane gold medal game tonight. Several soft goals, both goalies getting pulled, and Canada coming back in the last few minutes made for some exciting hockey. It's awesome to see the US win gold after making early exits the last few years. That and I just hate to see Canada win gold year after year.

Re: Canadian Olympic Team
Canada and Russia have some crazy fire-power. I think I read that Russia's first unit PP will be Datsyuk, Ovechkin and Malkin with Kovalchuk and Gonchar manning the points  . I'm surprised Doughty and Seabrook made Canada over Bouwmeester. Then again, who am I to question Stevie Y's picks?
