Re: Softball reeeeally struggling...
What are the Falcons going to do for pitching next year? When Salsburg arrived they consistently had the best pitching in the MAC. Her confidence in "her girls" put an end to that. An earlier post suggesting scholarship reductions may be the problem. Hard argument to make when you trade a ...

Re: 2010 Falcon Softball
Palma’s only issue with Salsburg was lack of opportunity. Salsburg was convinced Palma was not a D1 pitcher there were plenty of opportunities for her to put her on the field and allow her to fail. She wouldn't do it with a 6 run lead. She wouldn't do it in non league games. When Palma did not get a...

beyond weimer
An old adage says you can never have enough pitching. If this adage is true you wonder why the pitcher who beat you twice yesterday was pushed out without ever given the opportunity to fail when she was a freshman at BGSU. With the exception of Weimer she handled BG pretty well yesterday. Perhaps th...

It's not how you start...
I was also critical early on. The upper classman deserve a lot of credit for an incredible turnaround. It's not how you start but how you finish.
Good luck next week and I hope to see you in the NCAA.

Patience
No Does anyone recall a Freshman throwing a no hitter in her college debut last year? She only threw 8 more innings the rest of the season. Her line for the last seven weeks of the season was 1 inning pitched, zero runs, three strikeouts. Last fall at the Speilman charity tournament at Ohio State sh...

Patience
I will agree the move from high school to division one college softball is not trivial. You seem to be suggesting that we should exercise patience with new players who are initially struggling. If so, doesn’t it make sense to exercise similar patience with players who are initially successful? Are y...

Freshman?
The number of Freshman cannot be an excuse. Salsburg has made it very clear that this years recruiting class are "her girls". Her success or failure is very much dependent on her commitment to them. As far as "out of conference" being a time time for development and an excuse for...
