Good game, BG. It was much more of a defensive battle then I thought. I am very proud of the BSU defense tonight and you should all be very proud of the BGSU defese tonight as well—they really shut down the BSU offense that was rolling at one point. Most fans are heading towards the exits early in a...

If you think McCoy is the better back that is fine...but it is clearly based on preference of running style or potential...because McCoy has not accomplished what Ian has at this point. He had a stellar freshman year, but Ian has a 1700 yard 25 TD season in his back pocket. Apples and Oranges beyond...

If BGSU really stacks the box against the run... we have some damn fine receivers too that would love to get more touches. Don't let our frosh QB's size and year fool you...the kid is a baller that is destined to break every Boise State passing record on the books.

I was speaking more to the production and depth of BSU as compared to Pitt rather than knocking McCoy.

BSU is ridiculously deep at that position and I believe that time may show that Ian Johnson (the headliner) may not even be the "best" of that group.

The BGSU run defense will have to perform better than against Pitt. Mainly because BSU is legitimately 4 deep at running back, headlined by Ian Johnson. Pitt has 2 really really good backs. Stephens Howelling (sp?) was better than McCoy when we played them. Top to bottom, I would rather have Pitt's...

I think that NCAA "rule" is an urban legend.

Mainly just because AD Gene Bleymeier thought it would be interesting and different. It has sure paid dividends as far as being a great marketing tool and makes for an extremely well-known landmark. This article from a couple of season's ago speaks to that a bit. http://www.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/...

Thanks! Too bad Doyt Perry isn't still alive...it would be interesting to hear he and Lyle Smith talk it up. Two great old-time coaches for both programs. Smith still attends all Boise State home games...he's pushing 100.

Know your enemy

As a public service to Boise State and Bowling Green fans, I have compiled some factoids to allow you to better know this weekend's opponent. See, I'm already learning!

Boise State

Finally tracked down the Falcon message board (at least the active one) and looking forward to the game this weekend. Looks like it will be a good test for both teams. I operate a Boise State footbal blog and would love it if one or two of you would be interested in doing a bit of a "point/coun...
