Re: Joey Burrow

The Columbus Dispatch • WEDNESDAY MAY 28, 2014 6:09 AM 33 732 1243 The great Ohio State recruiting commitment drought is over, and an in-state prospect ended it — quarterback Joey Burrow of Athens. A fast-rising name in the national recruiting rankings, Burrow already had offers from at least 17 sc...

In three years, with some good weight training advice, this young man can easily put on 50 solid pounds.

Re: RIP Mr. Frack

We should all remember this and have a thread remembering Mr. Frack WHEN Bowling Green finally breaks the long drought under Coach Jans and gets to the NCAA. My prayers to his family and may he rest in peace -- until tip off of the first game. Then he can cheer the Falcons on to victory from the &qu...

Re: MAC President's Salaries

Just saw some OSU f'ball assistants are making more than most MAC presidents. In all honesty, they're probably more productive than most MAC presidents. Okay, I'm kidding. However, it should be noted that all of the OSU coaching salaries come from Athletic Department funds, which are totally separa...

Re: Falcons in the NFL

Winning a MAC title game is the ultimate now -- but I want to see BG combine that with a string of victories of its rival again. Too much losing to that team north of us. Waaaay too much of late. I'll take a win over the Rockettes above just about anything except a MAC title game victory. Yes, even ...

Re: Looks like MAC Tournament changes are on the horizon aga

Apparently, the newest version of Firefox doesn't like the quote feature on this site, because it won't let me quote a post and then write outside the box. Anyway, I agree with all the posters who say it's time to scrap the stupid tournament and reward the regular season champion with the bid. They ...

Re: Well, Gates may have just blown any shot at the NFL

We need to take a long, hard look at the drug laws in this country. Is worth the man hours for the cops, prosecutors, court etc... to pursue this kind of thing? $30 and a handful of grass and now the young man in question is in the criminal justice system, his future soemwhat clouded by this indesc...

Re: Well, Gates may have just blown any shot at the NFL

I agree with hamm on just about everything he wrote -- but the bottom line here is very simple: how fracking STUPID do you have to be to put yourself in this position right before the draft? That's it. Bottom line. You know you have a minimal shot to get drafted, and you hope to at least latch on as...

Re: Blade article: Jan's looks to change Stroh atmosphere

I am just as anxious as any BG fan, as HCCJ was a fantastic coach and recruiter for WSU. You can bet he will mold the team to look similar to WSU over the past few years. That's why he didn't get the FGCU job last year. FGCU wanted to keep the uptempo, high flying stunts to keep it entertaining, no...

Re: Eric McKnight 6'9 Forward- FGCU "Dunk City" Transfer

Whether he's a good basketball player or not, the coach will decide. Hopefully, if he decides he's been saddled with someone that totally lacks talent, he'll "encourage" him to transfer to a different school. Cold? Yep. But as noted already, he shouldn't be on the roster, and certainly sho...

Re: 2014 Offseason Roster tracker

Good Lord, a full roster and a coach who puts an emphasis on having a strong PG. I just got all tingly in my personal area. 8-) Is it just me, or does even reading about the team now create a level of excitement we haven't felt about BG basketball in more than a decade? Whatever it is, I can't wait ...

Re: Any basketball recruits?

I really think this is a result of a later start for Jans and the absolutely failure of Orr to attract any quality prospects this year. Sorry but can we let this ridiculous blaming of Orr die. The fact he was in the last year of a contract that was not going to be renewed allowed anybody recruiting...

Re: Another Donation

Academics should be emphasized more. We clearly need a 100 level Econ course on the difference between public and private monies. Socialists don't want or care about a difference -- and most of these folks would prefer that system over the one that allowed folks like Frack and others to make those ...
