Re: Dr Mazey is stepping down...

I believe she is doing this because she wants to enjoy life. I do not believe she was forced out by the Trustees or that she did something that is going to give BGSU as black-eye. The university lost a member of Capital Planning to cancer back in October. He was approximately 64 or 65 years old. I ...

Re: BG vs Miami

Only 1,586 at Millett for the game. It looked like a lot of BGSU fans were at the game. The Miami Student section had to be all of three or four rows in one section. Quite sad to say the least. Nice win..... the start of the second was slow for BG as noted by Hammb. I don't think Miami ever really w...

Re: BG vs Miami

Anyone going to the game? We plan on meeting up with Nicholas. Should be plenty of tickets available. Only 1,400 showed up last week for the Miami- Eastern game.

Re: St. Petersburg Bowl Miami vs Mississippi State

Well.... I didn't watch the game.... checked in on occasion. Half working today. I'm looking forward to next season for Miami - I reordered my season tix last week. My only hope is that Chuck Martin sticks around Oxford for awhile - but at 48 years old... one or two winning seasons after turning the...

Re: Video board coming to the Ice Arena

The video board is being paid for by an advertising partner and will serve as a “great interactive piece for the ice arena that will get fans engaged,” said Moosbrugger. http://www.bgfalconmedia.com/campus/president-mazey-visits-usg-answers-students-questions/article_31950b90-795f-11e6-a38f-cfe7a08...

Re: Video board coming to the Ice Arena

I do believe that there was a sizeable donation made to pay for, at least, a good chunk of the board. There typically is - but the money then is typically channeled elsewhere. We still "budget" for the scoreboard knowing that they will come at a much reduce rate or free. Again - I can't s...

Re: Video board coming to the Ice Arena

I can't speak directly to Video Board as I haven't been involved in their installation, but score boards are typically "free". They typically will be paid for by soda companies that want their logo on the scoreboard. There is typically a contract for say.... 10 years.... that Pepsi or Coke...

Re: Ice Arena Expansion?

[I believe the practice field is a turf field now as well.........it's important to fence it in. Again.... speaking as an architect and someone with actually knowledge of these types of issues.... that statement is absolute fact. You really want to fence a turf field to protect it. You may find som...

Nice attempt at being clever....I may be an asshole, but I'm right.

That is your opinion..... that does not make you or your comment right or correct. Well....... Other than admitting that your asshole.

Re: Ice Arena Expansion?

Okay.... donations for the fence. I have designed a lot of projects where private donations (and grants) are used to construct the project. So I speak with some experience and authority in this matter. Donations come from a variety of sources and the donors have every right to dictate how and where...

Re: Upgrades to the Doyt

If adding handrails reduces the width of the aisle required by code... then there could be an issue. But I think there is some leniency in interpreting this area of the code. I can't remember the width of the aisles at the Doyt, but clearly if its 36 inches or less, there could be a conflict. I'm no...

Re: Upgrades to the Doyt

Grab rails will probably obstruct the view of some. How tall would you make them? Railings running down the center of the aisle about shoulder height with the people sitting in that section...that should be OK 36 inches. The width of the aisles might limit their installation. Without looking, the A...

Re: Miami

I was at the game. I would say that we played causal at times. Miami got some energy once they tied the score. I think Freak hit the nail on the head.

Re: BG vs Wrong State

Yeah the single bowl is pretty crazy, but I guess that's what you get for having a "new age" 1987 designed building that we supposed to be "different." It's just giant. Ever since I've started working here a few years ago I've never understood the need for something that size, e...
