My brother is on the pit crew for a Nascar/Arca series driver and a few weeks ago they had a race at the Toledo Speedway. I heard a marching band as I was pulling into the lot, and I thought to myself "who is this half-a**ed crappy high school band?" I got out of the car, told my parents I...

I have no beef, other than it was insinuated by the drum major fellow that this scouts fellow was inferior to him and just wanted his positon. I have a feeling that this scouts fellow was plenty talented, as it takes way more drive to do a season of drum corps, or even just a day of drum corps than ...

OH! This is more of the FMB/DCI compare? "Uh-huh" was my only answer and walked away. I can still feel his daggers on the back of my head......but he did want my job (DM) in the worst way. There should never be a comparison between college bands and DCI. I also have NEVER EVER met a Falco...

I just want to know why the athletic bands don't play the Final Countdown. I think that is a sweet a-band song.

Hey, I bet everyone here thought I'd just be gone in a week too , but here I am, back to ruffle feathers as everyone puts it. No, but we hoped so. Oooooh burn, ouch. I'm not sure if that's serious or not. I don't come on here and attack people on the forum, or say that you are morons, or that you b...

Hey, I bet everyone here thought I'd just be gone in a week too, but here I am, back to ruffle feathers as everyone puts it. I actually have a lot of respect for "thatguy." He's on here sharing his opinion. Maybe he didn't like the shows? Big Deal. It seems to me as if he's on here to make...

[quote="goofyeuph"]I've stopped debating the issues in this thread cause I feel like I'm kicking a dead horse. Hey, never feel like you're beating a dead horse, changes come out of great conversations like this! I'm really exited to hear all of these opinions from all of these different an...

Aiming low with my frustration? What does that mean? I'm not saying we have to pull in guys from Blast! but listen to the students, they make the band function and exist. If the students aren't happy, then freaking do something about it. The problem is that the only students who get on here and talk...

Here, it's always been mediocre, and will continue to be until someone makes a change. It hasn't "always been mediocre." I'll take the current FMB over anything in the past 10 years. Really? Name me a good show from this year? It was all a joke. I mean, the hip hop show, which had Stacy's...

I agree with quality over quantity and that more cuts need to be made, but whether you make cuts or not, there are always going to be missed step-offs, and people out of step, and other mistakes like that. Those problems were also present in the 2002 FMB and before and are not going to go away no m...

It's not about excusing things because it's harder. Bad step offs are bad step offs, no matter what the drill is. Being out of step is being out of step no matter what. Again, I do not think this is a problem that arises from the members, it's from too many people being let in. It's from a lack of m...

Alright, I have several things to say in response to the last posts. Firstly, Jason. Is it possible and probable the the trumpets PLAY better now? Yes. Is it also possible that the band LOOKS like crap? Yes. There are I'm sure some very great players, as there always will be, the band sounds better ...
