George Mason

Anyone see George Mason play on ESPN2 last night? Man, what a great looking team. Big, fast, athletic, a tremendous point guard...kinda makes you wonder.

how many wins newxt year since omar is gone

As you should know by now, I make my evaluations of BG football based mostly on defense--since a good defense will keep a team in a lot of games regardless of offense. So from my standpoint it really doesn't make much difference if Jacobs or Turner is the quarterback. Based on defensive performance ...

defense

Once again--defense wins championships. Until BG can put someone on the field who can stop the run and put consistent pressure on quarterbacks, they won't win championships..no matter who the quarterback is or how many talented recievers they have. (Sure Miami had Ben R. two years ago, but they also...

still just my opinion

Where is there anything that roots against BG? I offered a sober and realistic observation. (DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS.) Now, when I first offered this observation, I was called all manner of names, such as the comments above, just for offering an opinion. Look at some of the other posts today....a...

still just my opinion

reality check Wisconsin, Boise, Miami, Toledo--realistically, BG could lose any one or--given there defense--all of these games. I think it highly unlikely they will win all of them. A good guess--again given their defense-- would be that they will be very fortunate to split the four. (3 of the 4 ar...

reality check

My bad...I own it. I'm a big boy and I can handle it--I made a mistake. I'm getting on in years and mistakes seem to come more often these days. Fifty years ago--when I saw my first Falcon game--I never would have made such an error in grammer. Thanks to all of you who so graciously and with such ki...

reality check

Win 2 of those four games and you end up 9 and 2. What's unoptimistic about that? I think some of you need to get your heads out of the clouds--or wherever else you're placing them--and take a realistic view of BG's schedule and defense. Think any of the 4 mentioned teams isn't going to score points...

recruiting and LaManta Stone

JUST MY OPINION...From someone who saw big Nate play back in the day...get rid of DD (and his "slow motion " or "no motion" offense) and give the team to Stone. Not only might we keep those Michigan kids but we might also see some exciting 21st century basketball instead of that ...
That still doesn't mean that the possibility has become reality.

It doesn't mean it hasn't either. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Unfortunately there is a lot of history here to go on, almost all of it bad.
Brandon speaking in the past tense

Thanks Flip for the nit picking. I realize it says "can." I also think Pam Anderson's double D thirtyeights "could" be real. If it wasn't a subject with some validity--not merely potential validity--why was it even a topic of discussion? If it's not relevant, why bring it up? The...

Brandon speaking in the past tense

I think the important thread from the Blade article is not whether Brandon is going or staying, but what the uncertainty is doing to our recruiting. The article states it is having a negative affect. I have no doubt it is being used against us and I have no doubt that we have--and will-- lose recrui...

recruiting

I know it's still early--a long way until Feb.--but I am starting to get the feeling all is not well with recruiting this year, despite all those early committs the staff talks about but no one can confirm. Could it be that all this talk about Brandon leaving is having an affect? Here is what I see ...

Toledo get Purdue to UT again

Glad to see my post yesterday provoked some discussion. Look folks, I don't know if a sur-charge is the way to go or playing games in Cleveland will work. Maybe BG should sell naming rights to the Doyt to Cocca Cola or some other business--Louisville plays in Pappa John Stadium and OSU has Value Cit...

toledo gets purdue to come to ut again

It all comes down to money and whether you are willing to spend it to get "big name" schools in your building--and Boise State isn't "big name" no matter what their ranking. When Toledo first began to get these teams into their building--which was just after the Glass bowl renova...
