Re: Offseason 2024

Was my high school athletic association engaged in an "illegal conspiracy" when I had to affirm I was an amateur to play freshman baseball?

I get that this lawsuit is written in legalese, but I'm having a hard time taking it seriously. Why do we expect the kid to win it?

Re: Offseason 2024

A thought: Ferris needs to stop letting Bob Daniels tank their program. He had a good (and extremely long) run, but they clearly need a reset. After 8 straight losing seasons, you’d think they would pull the trigger. I’d contend that the best hire they could make is Jeff Blashill, who played there ...

Re: Dennis Williams Part II

Great to see Jerry York was involved with the search. What a guy to have in your back pocket. Definitely looking forward to the press conference tomorrow. Assuming Dennis will be remote. Hoping this is the first step in bringing this program back to relevance. Interesting to see a quote from Wayne ...

Re: NCAA Tournament

Recruiting marginal talent from the USHL/NAHL and smaller Canadian junior leagues gets you here. I posted an article a few months ago that CCHA programs looking to Europe for talent, namely Sweden and Finland. Hockey is lagging behind the NIL curve, but I suspect things will start moving in the nex...

Re: Eigner Fired - Coaching Search Thread

I view BG & Miami as equal in respects to the work that needs to be done with their programs. Obvious there's more money available in Oxford, but the path to an NCAA berth is likely met with less resistance in the CCHA than the Nacho. It'll never happen, but this would be the ideal opportunity ...

Re: Eigner Fired - Coaching Search Thread

From McMahon's insider update this afternoon: The swiftness of this decision suggests that AD Derek Van der Merwe made up his mind a while ago. Bowling Green was specific in its statement that the move was made due to on-ice performance, which was to deflect away from the hazing investigation. Stil...

Re: Eigner Fired - Coaching Search Thread

Wilson leveraged Berge's departure into a better deal at RIT. I have to assume he's off the table. Peter Mannino? He's helped resurrect Colorado College. What I had actually heard about Wayne in 2019 was that he wanted the job but Bob Moosbrugger told people privately that he thought Wayne was “too...

Re: Quick Lane Bowl vs. Minnesota

Close to home, close to a holiday, beatable P5 opponent, and a decent payout. Other than having Liberty's spot, this is probably the best bowl for us.

Re: Beat Toledo

Keith and Fannin weren't hurt but we didn't use them at all the second half. Inexcusable play calling If this is true that is a fireable offense. They were dinged up/in and out of the game. Fannin was obviously limping on the last drive, and Keith had to be managed after leaving with an injury last...

He was 3/11 passing. We would have been better off taking a knee on his drives to kill off 2 minutes before punting.

Re: Problems at Tech?

Scumbag? I’m guessing you have never met him? There are quite a few scumbags in college athletics…Shawhan is not one of them. The dude started a fight in a handshake line as a coach. Wouldn’t describe him as a stand up guy. You mean this fight in the handshake line? Nah, it's standard procedure for...

The new entry design is bland and forgetable. Let's hope the interior didn't get value engineered as bad.

Once Tech gets Swankler eligible, I'm sure he'll be able to steal a win or two for them.
