White Team vs. Orange Team
I thought the white team was at a disadvantage yesterday because they were mostly made up of the freshmen...with Pilkington, Morrison, Meloche, Barnett, and Dobek really being the only well-seasoned players on the white. Then the orange team had guys like Matsumoto, Foster, Unger, Falk, Nesdill, Maz...

OMAR FEATURED IN USA TODAY
Omar Jacobs has quite a write-up in USA Today in an article from Kevin Allen. Very cool picture of him in the tunnel leading up to the stands at the Doyt on the front of the sports page. He also has a corner of the front cover.

Horrell in for a spark
They put Jon Horrell in to generate some spark just like they did in the first game at Ferris State. They just felt it was time to make a change in net, not that Jordan played bad, but to try and give the team something to rally around. Horrell is a good goalie and its sorry to hear people are blami...

Why not BG Phil?
If the nation's top recruit Phil Kessel goes to Minnesota and plays well...leading the Gophers to the national title it won't mean anything. Why not have him come to BG here and really make a punch by helping the Falcons win the CCHA and Frozen Four next season? Imagine a line of Kessel, Pilkington ...

Lets just eliminate the votes that make you shake your head
Im glad people are voting for Jordan, I think he deserves it...i believe so myself....whether he should(emphasis) is an entirely different story that many can argue over and over again. My concern is....lets eliminate those votes for guys who really shouldn't be that high up there. Not that they're ...

Blade needs to be more like Sentinel
I just wish The Blade would act more like the Sentinel-Tribune and do some more game recaps of the hockey games. They do a good job with football and basketball. but leave something to be desired with hockey. I love how Kevin Gordon always is at games or writing articles in the Sentinel about the ho...

Great Article
Carrie really did a nice job with this article. It was a different direction from where everybody and their brother was taking it repeating the same facts over and over again. I really liked how she used his mom and went with the whole hospital situation. In mine, I didn't quite get that indepth and...

Don't get me wrong
Im not looking for reasons to say you shouldn't vote for Sigalet. I'm just saying consider other options too and don't vote for the sake of backing players because they just so happen to be from your school or just so happen to have a diease. He's never asked to stick out except to inform others.......

I know that there is off-ice criteria, but Jordan isn't the only guy exhibiting these criteria off the ice. Heres a article that USCHO just did on Colin Murphy showing how he came back from medical problems as well and balances having a wife and kid with his playing. http://www.uscho.com/news/2005/0...

Journalist before fan
I may work for the BG News Staff, but I'm a journalist and can't afford to be a fan even though i cover the team that just so happens to represent my school. I'm not doing this as PR, its journalism...i try to give my stuff more of a BG view, but I'm a journalist and in my journalistic view.......I ...

Jordan is great, but please quit the other meaningless picks
Jordan Sigalet is a great goaltender, he is one of the best in the league...one of the best in college hockey. I can't honestly tell you hes the best player in college hockey this year though. I think it'd be pretty tough to argue against Marty Sertich from Colorado College or guys like Colin Murphy...

I think a part of the reason people lost interest in the hockey team is because The Blade lost interest in it. It's sad to see that the only BG hockey stories that make The Blade anymore has to be from special ocxasions....like the suspension of 7 players or the Sigalet MS story, which he doesn't wa...

Meloche, Whitmore and Pilkington
If I had to choose guys capable of a hat-trick the most, I'd say Derek Whitmore, Rich Meloche, and Brett Pilkington. Three good playmakers there to create 3 goals in a game.

Jon Sitko should be playing tonight here at State. I know that Alex Foster will also be back in the lineup, he missed Saturday's Miami game. Unfortunately John Mazzei will miss the next two weeks, which is too bad cuz they could use some good speed against Michigan in those two track meets they'll h...
