Re: Temple Heading to the Big East??????

I'll add that we don't know what the NCAA Division One talks are going to produce either. The move is on, again, to contend with the haves and have-nots in 1a. Now I don't see anything that is as hostile as the attendance or stadium capacity requirements from the 80s and 90s coming down the road. In...

Re: Temple Heading to the Big East??????

I think we face interesting times ahead, with regard to D1 football. (and yes, I continue to ignore the new designations) It looks like the +1 option will get traction and become the new BCS model. My feeling has been, that once it does happen, we will see more "+1" games develop. Several ...

Re: Temple Heading to the Big East??????

Well if they decide that 6 mill over the 13 schools I know what I would do with the 400k. Put it in the endowment and you have funded ONE of the 85 football scholarships. Now to get 84 more people to do the same thing. Aye. I think more than most things, securing BGSU athletics in the long-term req...

Re: Temple Heading to the Big East??????

I wonder how UMass is feeling about joining the MAC now. With them being in the A-10 with Temple, they were a natural football rivals. Now the closest other school is 400 miles away. I think they test the waters, get up to speed, and get out as soon as they can. A viable football playing UMass isn'...

Re: Temple Heading to the Big East??????

It is xmas early this year! I'm glad they are gone, and obviously I've been basically hating them since the day the MAC screwed up by inviting them. It was a mistake to invite them, they did nothing for the league, and now they are gone. At least they didn't win the MAC while they were here. 13 team...

Re: Stadium renovation or construction plans down the road

I appreciate the thought Zete. It can seem like a debate over what came first, the chicken or the egg. However I don't think you can wait for one to do the other. They are the same under the larger banner of the program. If we waited for an epic period in men's basketball for a new stadium, we would...

Re: Stadium renovation or construction plans down the road

Restrooms: I have no issues with the men's restrooms, somebody ask Flipper about the women's facilities. However, we could use some family restrooms, and not just for the UT football team to use. Restrooms on the west side are nastier than you know. Whenever it rains, water drips down through the c...

He'll shock and awe, and be young enough to retire a couple more years, then take-over at Notre Dame. Then maybe Michigan.......

Re: Stadium renovation or construction plans down the road

If I remember my math classes, 1400 X $10.00 = 1000 X $14.00. I understand that no one can guarantee any numbers, but I think I'd rather have more people giving less money than fewer people giving more money. At least then they could justify to themselves treating fans as a second class source of i...

Re: Stadium renovation or construction plans down the road

Like many, I've spent a couple decades attending games at Doyt L. Perry Stadium. It is my first love among the sports venues at BGSU. The stadium overall, is better now than it was ten years ago. And better off than 20 years ago. I think new talk of changes to division 1 may be impacting things, eve...

Re: New videoboard should be ready by spring game

I would also say, why not put the old video board facing Wooster. We once had a marginally functional text scroll.......which brings back memories, with coming events, etc. At the very least, that lousy old video board could display dates perhaps. Or on the Stroh facing Wooster advertising upcoming...

Re: New videoboard should be ready by spring game

Does anyone know what the size of the old one was, and what the size of the new one will be? Donno. However they have removed 100% of the board from the score/time clock to the top. It may not all be video, but they seem to really like what the board in the Stroh center does. My thought is that you...
