Just saw this on Youtube...BG vs. Randy Moss and Chad Pennington.
Nice blast from the past, quite the crowd at Marshall as well.

Re: Davidson invited to NFL Combine
This is not a great year for kickers in terms of the draft. The best kicker is Daniel Carlson by a mile...others who have NFL potential are Joey Slye (VT) and Jason Sanders (New Mexico). ...But the punters are tremendous this year: Michael Dickson (Texas) Joseph Davidson (Bowling Green) Trevor Danie...

Nike does stock a brown shade for team sales. It's under "Dark Cinder"

Re: The old "LT"Falcon head logo...Merchandise?
My wife is an artist and will be painting a huge LT logo on the back wall. I need her to hurry up and get it painted so people that come over and see the garage will stop assuming I'm a Browns fan. I also have a big "Fat Head" type LT logo on the wall in my man cave. I have the original ....

The old "LT"Falcon head logo...Merchandise?
Huge fan of the old logo. In fact, that was my first BG memory....turning on SportsChannel in 1996 on my parent's massive satellite dish and seeing those cool brown jerseys, white pants, and that orange helmet with that abstract logo on the helmet. There was nothing like it in college football - so ...

Re: Locker Room Material
I could not pick a better team than MSU to start a potential turnaround season. 1, it is quite apparent that Narduzzi, not Dantonio, is the genius behind MSU's rise. 2, since the Alabama blowout, MSU has been in freefall. Bad season last year and off field trouble that would have been ESPN headline...

Re: Unis for 2017 Season
Agree - I just love the simplicity of uniforms past. Oklahoma, I think, does it better than most in that they have simple home/away uniforms with a slight variation on these as a third option.

Re: What was Blackney-era Bowling Green football like?
FWIW, from what I heard at the time, Blackney tended to deal with his wife's condition with a bottle of alcohol. The worse she got the worse his dependency became. That explains, at least in part, the lack of discipline of the team in his waning years. He had too many things to deal with and he cho...

Re: What was Blackney-era Bowling Green football like?
So sorry to hear Flipper. I went through unfortunate things a while back and they always say to find a lot of happy diversions to help get you through it. For me, it was just fishing/boating a lot with friends....and things got much better. I remember what the Doyt was like before renovations (maybe...

Re: What was Blackney-era Bowling Green football like?
Bumping this post one last time. I did some attendance digging in regards to the last 4 years of the Blackney era. As you can see, MAJOR decline after 1997 in terms of crowd support. Very abysmal in 2000, as expected. In bold are the worst and best attended games. 1997 Miami (OH) - Attendance - 20,4...

Re: What was Blackney-era Bowling Green football like?
Yeah...I think the crowds were bigger. 1994 averaged something like 22-25k IIRC. Schad mentioning all that stuff about Ryan Henry getting profiled in USA Today as a Heisman guy and the team getting some pub reminds me of Omar in 2005...Lots of preseason hype and then Boise State happened and the te...

Re: Unis for 2017 Season
This was my favorite look. http://i.imgur.com/LVrTsf8.jpg I would love to see a solid brown jersey with no stripes or weird patterns or ridiculous fonts, plain white pants, orange helmet with LT logo. Classic. On the road with be a white jersey with orange pants. Then, they would roll out some crazy...

Re: What was Blackney-era Bowling Green football like?
I remember reading all about Bowling Green's "Black Wednesday" which sort of highlights how bad the morale was at the end of 2000. Here is a great article all about it....apparently Urban's workouts were some sort of next-level hell: https://www.landof10.com/ohio-state/budweiser-black-wedn...

Re: What was Blackney-era Bowling Green football like?
Really good early...disciplined team, worked hard, very focused. The Perry Field House was built in 94ish...giving BG the first indoor facility in the MAC IIRC. The 1994 team was really good...as good a team as I recall at BG. Then the fat punter happened and things changed. That and the OSU job di...
