Re: 2026 Transfer Portal

MAC football and NIL at this level is just lighting peoples money on fire. Take regular students money in fees take donors money and just light it on fire. I’d say breeding cats has a better outlook at this point financially. Agree 100%. It is getting embarrassing that we are trying to compete in F...

Re: 2024-25 Offseason

I think the issue with any FCS discussion is what does it solve/accomplish. I 100% believe that the MAC belongs in FCS based on things like budgets, on field competition, etc. I don't see any way we can hope to compete in the new FBS landscape where you're committing millions of dollars to player N...

Re: 2024-25 Offseason

The Athletic with a feature article today on Eddie George: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6434839/2025/06/19/eddie-george-bowling-green-coach-acting/ Includes this tidbit: Bowling Green had an average announced attendance of 13,358 last year, seventh out of 12 MAC teams. According to a Bowling Gr...

Re: 2025 Basketball Portal

The fact of the matter is that men's basketball is essentially third on the totem pole in our athletic dept. Football and hockey reign above. Most of those schools don't have a hockey team to support as well. A10 teams with FCS or no football can go all-in on men's basketball. Akron and Toledo have...

Re: 2025 Basketball Portal

Mom and I were downtown at Grounds for Thought and saw one of our assistant coaches. He said Campbell and Butler will "most likely" transfer. Said Campbell is receiving offers of $400,000 that we cannot compete with. This tracks. Know several D1 high school coaches in Northeast Ohio. From...

Re: 2025-2026 Season

Not sure that’s a good thing. I’d prefer Butler back over Humphrey if given the choice. However, if Humphrey staying results in the unplayable bench players exiting I’m for it. 100% agree Guest. I love Butler as a 6th man, which I think is an ideal role for him. Humphrey did seem to bring some stea...

That ESPN article may has well been written by Eddie George’s agent…LOL. His agent is worth the $, I’ll give them that.

Re: Loffler to Eagles QB Coach

I’m over BG football completely so don’t care too much what they do next. Definitely not ideal timing. I am happy that it helps the Lions…I’d think it’s a pretty safe bet you’ll see some regression out of Eagles QB play. Couldn’t agree more, with apologies to any players that may frequent the site,...

Re: Loffler to Eagles QB Coach

This is now a great opportunity to drop football out of G5 All the players will be in the portal and poached. A visionary AD would be looking at how to join the MVC as a full member and play football at whatever level the MVC plays it at. Force Toledo to make a Mountain West football decision and st...

Re: Transfer Portal 2024-25

The easiest solution for anyone frustrated with the roster churn is to drop football all together or to a lower division. It will happen regardless, it’s just a matter of whether the institution of BGSU wants to decide its fate or have its fate decided for it in a much more expensive, painful way. E...

Re: Utah St. job open

I think he is off to Utah State…frustrating, but good for him! I really hope we go back to what seemed like a good pool of candidates we had last year. Not that it’s preferred, but I much rather be a program winning 20 games and searching for a coach every 1-2 years than a program winning 10-14 game...

Re: Utah St. job open

And the industry knows how difficult it is to win here. Historically speaking, it’s a known dumpster fire administration. BGSU could sure use that 483K they paid Huger to go away. I don't know what Simon is making right now, but you'd have to imagine his buyout will be significant if Utah State has...
