I was the one who started this topic and time wise I was thinking in the past 45 years. This is within my time frame and what I would consider to be recent history. Prior to the 1960's, I believe BG was considered college division in at least football. Someone emailed that he thought the baseball re...

BG and Ohio State head to head
After the Falcon hockey team swept OSU this past weekend I got to wondering what the all time record was in all men's sports between the two schools. I have a feeling it is a lot closer than most people might think and I would not be surprised if BG has a winning overall record against Ohio State in...

Brown sounds like the kind of running back I like. Tough, elusive, and hard to bring down. His lack of breakaway speed is something we can work with. There bave been a lot of great running backs who carried that label and did just fine. Chester Taylor (Toledo) and Michael Turner (Northern Illinois) ...

What do you think
Looking back on the season so far I have a couple observations I wanted to share. As we know there are 3 aspect to any football game. Offense, defense and special teams. For the past several seasons BG has been a team built primarily on offense and solid special teams. Our defense has never been the...

Some good news about a BG athlete
This is not football related but a great accomplishment by a BG athlete. BG Sophomore, Alissa Czisny, finished second in the Skate America Women's Freestyle Figure Skating Championships held in Atlantic City . This is one of the premier skating competions in the world. This past week Alisson won the...

I also have real concerns about the direction of this program. I am afraid there is a big difference in the abilities of Urban Meyer and Coach Brandon. Meyer was able to win immediately with players from a losing program. Coach Brandon was able to continue to win in his first 2 years with players la...

The inability to put pressure on the quarterback from the defensive line has been a problem for some time. It does seem to be worse this year. I think a good part of this is that our linemen are undersized and once the blocker makes contact they are able to disengage. Anytime a defense has to get pr...

A golden opportunity lost?
Like all of you I was stunned by what happened Saturday. I thought if BG played a bad game we would still win by 7-10 points, and if we played a really bad game we might possibly lose in the last seconds to a field goal. But to lose by 31 to a team that a year ago we beat by 52 points, on our field,...

Did this help Scott M with San Diego?
Do you think the trade of Offensive Guard Toniu Fonoti by the San Diego Chargers bodes well for Scott? Fonoti was a first-round pick but I don't know if he was a starter for the Chargers. Hopefully, it will mean more playing time.

The Impressions of an infrequent guest
Please indulge me as I share my impressions of my BG experience today. Though I graduated from BG in 1975, I seldom make it to a game since I work on Saturdays and live a fair distance away. I have been to many a football game down through the years and I must say today was the most impressed I have...

So we are 1-2 just as we were last year with a very favorable schedule for the next several weeks. Can the Falcons duplicate what they did last year and begin to turn this season around in week four? I believe they can but there are some problems to overcome this year that we did not have last year....

What happened with Columbus radio coverage
I have to work on Saturdays and was looking forward to listening to the game on the radio station (1580) in Columbus as I did the Wisconsin game. To my shock they were carrying the game between Northern Iowa and Minnesota Duluth. Why, I have no idea. Does anyone know if BG somehow lost their broadca...
