Re: Coaching carousel
Michigan is almost certainly replacing Harbaugh by promoting their OC Sherrone Moore. It sounds like DC Jesse Minter, STC Jay Harbaugh, and their strength coach Ben Herbert are going to be on Jim's staff with the Chargers. Very unlikely Strength & Conditioning coach Ben Herbert is going with Ha...

Re: NCAA Tournament Watch
BG didn’t deserve to get in, but Notre Dame definitely did not deserve it either. That’s solely for viewership with the BC/ND match up

Re: 2020 Offseason
Fair point, but it doesn’t solve anything for Miami, Western and the other CCHA schools who have to now go 3x to Minnesota.
Maybe Miami and Western have deep enough pockets to pull it off long term. I’m skeptical, but I could be wrong.

Re: 2020 Offseason
As much as they say they can’t or don’t want to, I don’t practically see how Miami and WMU don’t swap places with Mankato and Bemidji soon to save costs for both the CCHA and NCHC. The current state of thing has budget cuts everywhere. I get there is pride and contractual issues, but at some point e...

Re: ROUND 1: @ Alaska (3/6-3/8)
Go BG! Great sweep over the Nanooks.
Tech swept Northern, as did Mankato over Anchorage.. so possible scenarios for next round:
LSSU wins: vs. Tech
Bemidji wins: at Bemidji

Re: New Hockey League...Realignment Starts Now
4) Conclusion: In two years Mankato and Bemidji either stay with us or go with the Nachos to be replaced by Western and Miami. The 8th spot remains a mystery for now. The MSU/BSU for WMU/MU swap makes too much sense for all involved, but this is college hockey so common sense will be avoided I'm su...

Re: New Hockey League...Realignment Starts Now
I have to wonder what will become of the Alaska hockey programs. With the lack of west coast hockey, about the only way I see them making it is if they join NCHC in place of WMU and/or Miami if they bolt. I can't imagine the Alaska programs surviving as independent. UAH should be a bit easier to fi...

Re: Illinois rumored to be announcing D1 Program 5/14
Geography matters for Hockey East and the ECAC. It did for most of the country until the NCHC messed it up.
The BigTen was inevitable, but the NCHC was unnecessary and is the biggest drain on college hockey today.

Re: @ Ferris State (12/7-12/8)
Amazing to go from sweeping Western and blowing out Ohio State to barely getting by mediocre teams. These games are called different than the non-conference were. First penalty of the game was on Craggs for interference. He hit the guy with the puck. This was a high scoring team until they hit the ...

Re: Coaches Caravan
I really, really hope this happens. I think the biggest (only?) thing holding it up is the exist clause WMU and Miami would face to leave the Nachos. It’s steep, but gotta bite the bullet at some point though. BG, Miami, WMU, Ferris, Northern, Tech and LSSU would make a nice and fairly “central” co...

Re: Coaches Caravan
Berge wants out of The WCHA. Playing the lower PWR teams leave us no room for error. If we give 2 years notice there's no penalty for leaving so he's wanting to submit the resignation now and see what happens. He needs to get Moose on board then go to Rodgers. Worst case is we go back after the 2 y...

Re: @Huntsville
Right. Assuming Ferris holds on (up by 1 late in the third) they take sixth place. Fairbanks would tie UAH in points with a (very likely) regulation win over Anchorage and win the tiebreaker by virtue of a better record vs Mankato (5th level tiebreaker!). If Ferris wins outright: we play Ferris. If ...
