LOL! Were you in the band when the original "short dweeb" was marching? I believe my freshman year was his final (senior) year. I can't remember whether you are in my same class or not...dang I am getting old

Sports are so much different when you have to be there, as opposed to when you want to be there. [/i] I hear ya!!!!! Spken from someone who teaches at a school that has won 5 state championships in football in the past 10 years, and went to state playoffs 12 years in a row...*big sigh*....all that ...

I was in it when it first started, I think in 1990? I played flugelhorn. I was in it when Dan Z. sat in with us when he was stil in college (we had some fun times LOL!). I played several years, it was a lot of fun. I am so out of the loop, I didn't know Dan was the trumpet prof at Wright State...sin...

Thanks BG Euphs

Big thanks to Niz and the BG euphs for coming to our FB game last weekend. Our kids were thrilled you came. What a great recruiting tool, they got to see how much fun you all have together while playing. We definitely have to do it again (maybe Niz won't forget Elliot and show up after the game is h...

Never mind, looks like Niz is going to brave the madness and work for me. If he doesn't survive, I will post a memorial to him on this forum.

There is no finer stand tune. At the hop was another great one but only Chief could direct the horn swing.
Shout was fun to play. I hated At The Hop, but that was just me LOL!

Hey Baby had some great alternate lyrics the trumpets used to sing

I went to the Notre Dame-Navy game this past weekend, only to watch my niece march (trumpet, of course) in the ND marching band. They have a ton of pre-game traditions that involves each section separately. I have no idea of these traditions are 5 years old or 50 years old, but even an outsider can ...

I said it when the event got moved, I said it while the event was out there, and I'll say it if/when it gets moved back; The Pre-game concert belongs at the Field House. I suppose that I think about it a little more, it really just doesn't belong at the stadium. While I marched, it was nice having ...

Wow, after reading this and Justin's comments about 'lazy show bands' makes me glad he isn't still working for me at my band camps teaching my percussion. What a crappy attitude, I am really surprised, and very disappointed, Justin, because I really liked and respected you. I am one that is firmly N...
