Re: Halfway mark....

I can't imagine any team waiting until halftime of a game to in essence put in a workable offensive game plan. Coaches have an entire week to look at game films and scouting reports in order to devise an offense that would be effective from the first play of any game. BG has been fortunate to have p...

Re: Your BGSU Cheerleaders and video link

The initial post here said the BG cheerleaders had finished 1st in the World Championships and a close second in the US championships. What exactly did they win and is this among all the NCAA schools or just the smaller ones? There have been some cheerleading competitions shown on CBSSN but I have n...

Re: Falcons play Drexel at Stroh Thurs. - 3rd round!

The reason to worry is the team needs and deserves the support the students would supply. And, if BG is in a similar position playing in the NIT in the future it is less likely they will be hosting any games. Home court advantage is a huge plus and it would be a shame to lost it due to lack of stude...

Re: 2013 Preview

In the end it will come down to how effective the QB position is. It is imperative we get more consistent play from that position.

Re: A look at this years senior class-Davon Haynes update

I understand that scoring 25 points a game at Podunk High School doesn't guarantee success at the D1 level but it makes one wonder how Erger and Krauss seemed to have lost their ability to shoot once the came here. I have to think it comes down to coaching at some point. This coach has not done a go...

Re: Back In the Day

Believe me when I say I'm not that excited about being as old as I am but I understand and appreciate your comment. Actually I find it hard to believe how quickly I got to be so old and I like to think I'm younger than I actually am but my body tells me otherwise. One thing that helps the mid-major ...

Back In the Day

I know we are all sort of discouraged about the present state of Bowling Green basketball and with good reason. With that in mind I thought I would share with you some of my recollections back when I first became a fan of the Falcons. Recently I turned 65 years of age so this story began some time a...

Re: No NCAA bid for Toledo

It's the same on the men's side as well. The commentators always say the committee takes into consideration where games are played so the big schools don't get an advantage. I had always heard that in basketball the home court is worth around 10 points. Playing the majority of your non-conference ga...

Which Direction Will the Program Go?

It seems to me the women's program is at a crossroad. The program has been so successful and dominant in the MAC that it is hard to envision anything less. However, there is some concern I have about the future of BG women's basketball. I never thought I would see the day when any BG women's team wo...

Re: Why Orr has failed (other than the obvious)

It would be one thing if the MAC were a strong league top to bottom but it is not. This year there are two maybe three solid teams and the rest of the league is mediocre or worse. There is no excuse for BG to be in the lower echelon of this league. There are just too many teams that should be beatab...

Re: New Helmet to Helmet Rule

I agree the penalty is too severe for what may well be an unavoidable situation. It is too easy for a player to misjudge the contact point when approaching another player, especially at game speed. The other problem is it often becomes a judgment call and is the official in a position to make the co...

Re: BG-KSU

It's not so tough to beat a really bad team three times in a season and Kent is a really bad team. It wasn't too long ago Kent was BG's main competition in the MAC.

Re: 2013-2014 Coaching Candidates

There are two traits that would be at the top of my list of requirements. First, the ability to effectively evaluate talent. The new coach needs to be able to find players who can make the transition from whatever level of high school they are playing to the MAC. And not just a middle of the road MA...

What Are The Chances Coach Orr Is Gone?

After the debcle today (and all season), what do you think are the chances BG will fire Coach Orr and find a new coach? I want to believe the writing on the wall that we all can read is as evident to the AD. However, I am afraid I may have my hopes too high. Please, givee reasons to believe changes ...
