https://x.com/hoopsweiss/status/1773164303442497965?s=46&t=jwZlbN3PJ-9eI0tgn_pTBQ I’d say it’s likely Simon is gone. Utah St men’s basketball now following all of the assistant coaches also. Since he was a coach in Utah just last year and had many of the same assistants, were they following him...

DVDM appears to have done well with MBB and WBB. How long does he stick around if he does well with hockey and another round of MBB (and FB?)? That would be quite the resume.
He absolutely KILLED the hockey hire. Great get!

Re: Roster Changes

Basketball 2024-2025 My guesses for next year. I have no idea of the 3 new players and not sure of Fearne and Tubergen. Based 12 players so maybe two spots to fill. Pre-conference (minutes) C: Erika Porter(28), Kendal Moxey(8), Taya Ellis(4) , ?????(0) F: Kieryn McGuff(24), Taya Ellis(15), Lauren G...

Re: Utah St. job open

Hard to fathom that Simon would move back out to Utah after only 1 year. Even for a little more money.

Re: CIT FIRST ROUND vs. Purdue Fort Wayne (3/20)

Doesn’t seem like it’s going to be a very big crowd, which is disappointing. My guess would be that we wouldn’t pay to host another game if we win tonight, since the community didn’t rally for this anywhere close to the level they did for the women last year. My guess is that this is the last chanc...

Re: How do you feel about Coach Simon’s first year?

I was satisfied as I had no clue on what to expect with such a drastic turnover of the roster. At least they were watchable, competitive, and beat TU at home. We just didn't have enough outside shooters to get us over the hump. My only real complaint this year was end of half/game clock management a...

I knew this was coming during the Toledo game as I watched him go 0-7 from 3 and 5-17 overall from the field.

Re: MAC QUARTERFINALS: vs. Central Michigan (3/14)

Gritty win. And while I agree the lack of fouls being called is ridiculous and seems to go against us, didn't Agee and Hill nearly lead the league in getting to the line this year? I seem to remember seeing a stat indicating that somewhere near the end of the season, so it's not like they don't norm...

Re: MAC QUARTERFINALS: vs. Central Michigan (3/14)

End of half, AGAIN, my biggest issue with Simon. No pressure at all, and let the team walk right down the court and toss in a WIDE-OPEN three.

Inexcusable.

Re: vs. Toledo (2/23)

I wouldn’t be shocked to see this team in the MAC title. They’re just a pain to compete against. Hell of a win against those damn folks from Lucas County I would be COMPLETELY shocked. They would have to beat at least Akron or Toledo on a neutral court to even get there. And playing Akron in Clevel...

Re: vs. Toledo (2/23)

Why in the name of All that is Holy would the university pit basketball against hockey? Did I really understand this right, that they scheduled the games at basically the same time so fans had to choose? I hope that's not true; students should not have to pick one sport or game over the other. Sche...

Coach Simon - Muscular Dystrophy

Tim McCormick breifly mentioned this during the broadcast, and it appears that many, maybe all, here knew nothing about this. So I dug up this old article. Todd Simon’s trek from Fowler to Findlay Prep is more inspiring than simply a small-town boy living out big dreams, coaching elite high school b...

Re: vs. Michigan Tech (2/23-2/24)

I will be attending my first game in way more than a decade on Saturday. There's also going to be a reunion of the old Section A guys (Section A Screamer) and the Section H guys (Buelah's Bugle), with many old timers making the trek back home from several states away. Should be a hoot. Hopefully we ...
