Figured I'd post a new profile since the site was updated. I'm mostly a "reader" on this site, but I do post every so often. :)

I knew I wanted to go to BG from the moment I stepped foot on campus. No matter that it was 10 hours from my home just outside of Philadelphia! My freshman year at BG was '89-90. I graduated in '93 with a BA in English, 6 credits shy of the double major in Technical Communication. I lived in Mac East (when it was the "Virgin Vault"), Mac North, Offenhauer East, and an apartment (Summit something?) that was about 25 feet off the railroad tracks.

I was in the marching band for my freshman through junior years, and that's how I met my husband (VASqueakStick) and many other people who post on this site. (Great experience... lots of friends before I even started my freshman year of classes!) The hubby lived with ZiggyZoomba, RightUpInThere, and Goose one year... and I probably spent way more time at their apartment than some of them did! Got to go to the CA Raisin Bowl with the band my junior year. Didn't march senior year, so missed out on the Silver Bowl in Vegas. :(

I was also in the Society for Technical Communication and I was a copyeditor for the BG News one year. I don't remember really being involved in anything else (but then again, sometimes I can't remember what I ate for breakfast, so that doesn't necessarily mean anything)...

Anyway, we moved to northern Virginia after graduation and got married (10 years as of last week). I have had several jobs in the tech comm field at various tech companies since graduation. I am currently an editor for a government contractor. My main duty is editing, but I also maintain the company's web site, do some graphic stuff, and write marketing collateral when I really have to.

We have two awesome (but hyper) boys (see picture at left) - Justin and Jack - and a 101-pound mastiff puppy - Keely. We are a hockey family through-and-through. If there was a home hockey game while we were at BG, John and I could be found there. We became Capitals fams when we moved to the DC area and thus have suffered many disappointments over the past 11 years. ;-) Seven years ago I had the privilege of meeting and writing an article about George McPhee for the alumni magazine. It never ceases to amaze me that he recognizes me and says he when I run into him every so often. Great guy. We also enjoyed watching Ken Klee play here for several years before he moved on. I once took a bunch of BG hockey stuff to a Caps Meet the Team event and got both of them to sign it. Klee turned to whomever was seated next to him (I don't remember who it was) and said something to the effect of, "Now THIS is a great hockey team!"

I dabbled in playing ice hockey between my two kids being born. John has played for about 10 years now in an adult rec league. Justin started last year. Jack doesn't quite walk yet, but it's only a matter of time before he's on skates! My license plate says I HOCKY with a heart in between the I and the H... And John's says 2 4RUFNG.

I am often teased about how much I loved everything about my time at BG. But that's okay. My favorite color is orange. Always has been, always will be... When I was little, my parents painted my bedroom with these huge 12-inch square blocks of brown and orange (hey, it was the early 70s!)... I think it was destiny for me to go to BG. :) We don't get back there but about every few years, but it's always great to be back on campus when we do get there!

OK... I've babbled enough...
