Is there a riff in the time-space continuum???

Post by Warthog »

I noticed in the John Kerry thread that RUIT has a post that shows the time as Nov 3, 6:23 pm. I posted a reply this morning (after RUIT), and RUIT's moved to the bottom because of the 'time' it was posted. I figured it was something to do with the posters computer and didn't really think about it. But now there is another instance in the Football forum. A post made sometime this morning has the time as 7:XX pm. Maybe it's just an AM/PM thing, but how does that happen? Or are we going to see RUIT on Heroes soon as he has developed the capability to stop time, just like Hiro?

OK, I noticed the Falcon head/BG icon thing isn't working to keep track of forums with new posts since I last visited. What's happening?

I had just marked it up RUIT manipulating the system so he could always have the last word, but since it is also happening to H20Ville (in the thread about the article written about by the jerk in Fla) it may be something with their computers time setting or their profile settings.

That's what I thought at first too. But then the "New Posts" icons don't seem to be working either. And I do see that the time listed on the "Forums" front page is correct.

The time now is Fri Nov 03, 2006 10:16 am
You last visited on Fri Nov 03, 2006 7:15 pm

Guess I have come back from the future as well. :D Wonder how I did it? Anybody want the mid-day lottery numbers?

The number of on-line users is high because Google is crawling the site right now. They're all from crawl-66-249-66-82.googlebot.com

They're not supposed to do that during the day, but maybe they changed how they're looking at robots.txt

As for the other timing issues... *shrug*

Google has bots that crawl through the internet. They basically load a page, then follow the links on that page, and so forth...it's how Google "maps" the internet to give you such great search results when you want to find something.

When you look at your website stats you'll see where the Google bots have been crawling through your site...according to Grant they're doing it crurrently :)

You realize you are setting yourself up for more abuse, don't you? :-D
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
