Alan Brech was cruising until the 6th when he gave up a walk, hit the bext batter and then Kent hit a 3 run HR. Kent scored 4 in the 6th and BG got one back in the bottom half of the inning.
C'mon BG!
Kent leads BG, 4-2 after 6.

Kent State drilled BG 11-3. Man we are sinking and sinking fast. Miami and WMU just passed us in the standings today too, so if the MAC Tournament started today, we'd be sitting at home. BG has now lost 6 of its last 7 MAC games and has fallen below .500 in the MAC (9-10). Hard to believe we were 8-4 not long ago. Maybe we've been struck with an "Irish Curse?" Since beating ranked Notre Dame to end the longest winning streak in the nation, we haven't won since and have lost four consecutive conference home games after being undefeated in MAC play at home. Today, we out-hit Kent State 12-9 and didn't committ an error, but again we gave up a ton of free passes - 12 all together! BG walked eight to just one for KSU and BG hit four batters to just one for KSU. That's 12-2 in freebies working against us which easily lead to them outscoring us and that's where it counts most. We are just killing ourselves by putting guys on without them hitting the ball!!! I'd much rather see a team beat us by outhitting us, but if we can't stop all the walks and HBPs, we could throw no-hitters the rest of the way and still lose by several runs. Hopefully we can respond tomorrow.....but our chances at the MAC Tournament are fading fast with every loss.
GO BG!!!
