UT-BG rivalry kicks off today

Post by h2oville rocket »

with a dual meet at BG. Like last year, UT will run its frosh and soph's, no upper classmen. The new recruits are supposed to be quite a class so it will be interesting to see what transpires.

I may have time for a double header-XC at BG then home for the 8:00 start of football.

No, I'm like the Hollywood types- got lots of homes: Waterville, the GB, RMNP, Puerto Rico- mostly spiritual homes. I'll be cheering the Rockets on from the GB fifty yard line, unless the increase in ticket sales forces me to find my actual seat in which I have yet to sit in the three years its been mine.

Love your spirit Freak-we're running our underclassmen against Bg's varsity so we'll see but I think we did the same lalst year and shut you out. Either way I hope to see it. I'll report back if I manage to get there.

Either way, it's a bunch of sissies running so who really cares in the end but you?

I guess the hundred or so other people there, Freak and sports fans. So if you don't care remind me why you're posting? I suspect any of those sissies can kick your ass (some of the women were small so they might struggle a little) but, hey, believe what you want...

BG did OK, Freak- their number one woman passed our last scorer just before the hill, about a quarter mile out but couldn't hold her off-UT women pitched the shutout. BG's men did much better, taking fifth and sixth before Toledo's fifth runner scored.

Toledo's top five are going to be really pushed by the group that ran today. Nice to have five runners that can run like these women and know that they will be fighting for the last couple places on the team that will run at the MAC.

Wow. That's about as close to domination as you can get in a cross meet. Sounds as though BG could use some more talent on either team. But, I seem to recall that being the case the couple of times I went to watch a meet, so it doesn't exactly seem to be a new problem.
