2010 Fall Baseball

Post by short »

Will anyone be following the fall baseball practices and scrimmages this year?

I'm excited to see the returning falcons and the new baseball players this year.

a lot of the guys, including the new ones, have been hitting on their own, since school started. Walk-on tryouts are Monday and then practice.

Does anyone know when they will be having their pro-scout day? Also, is that open to the public?

Pro scout day is TODAY!! They had 21 scouts there which is a GREAT turnout. We are really young.

Wow, that's awesome!

Is there anyway to see how each player did? I'm curious to see if anyone stood out in any of the "events".

Jon Berti ran a 6.5 sixty TWICE!!!!!!!!!!! That is fly'n my friend. A few of the new freshmen were also under the magical 7.0 sixty times as well as Pat Martin. Looks like we'll have some speed this year.

Oh wow! That's great to hear. That is very fast, I wonder what he was timed at from home to first.

Keep us updated if you get a chance to see some of the scrimmages. Thank you :)

I can't wait for the start of the season!

Any update on the Brown and Orange world series? Who's winning and anyone playing well?

Brown won again today to make it 2-0 over the Orange. A lot of hitting and scoring going on in the series so far. Either we REALLY hit well or the pitching so far is a little behind.

I'm looking forward to the season as well. I won't have to work weekends this spring so I'll be able to make some more games. Hopefully we'll still be able to be pretty good despite being young. My guess is that we'll be ready. Baseball is one of the few sports at BG that actually wins. I have faith that this coaching staff will have them ready.

If you take baseball and women's basketball out of the picture, the W and L record is NOT pretty for this administration!
Baseball is going to have to have some pitchers step up and others get healthy to get their 4th division title in a row.
