BG throwers

Post by h2oville rocket »

Jessie Rowland and Ashley Harris lead a pretty talented group of throwers for BG. They pretty much swept the throws at UT's meet last week and again at OU this week. At OU, Rowland was either first or second in hammer, discus and shot and even placed 6th in the javelin which is much more of a speed and technique event. My personal trainer is a BG grad student who works with the throwers and also with Jeanette Pettirew, one of the MAC's top sprinters. He seems to be having better luck with them than he is with me.

The block is more physical than mental, believe me. Some things you don't do as well at 59 as you did at 19. Other things you do better, like....uh, well, there's...mmmm...I'll get back to you on that.
