Re: BGSU Sued Over Forrest Creason Golf Course
Speaking of the gold course, can anyone tell me why they have cut down so many trees out there??? Drove down the stadium drive and noticed a bunch of large stumps standing beyond the softball outfield and all throughout the course, especially over by the lake, there were all kinds of trees removed. What gives???
GO BG!!!

Basically all of the ash trees in the midwest have been killed by the emerald ash bored!

OMG, don't tell us "the tree" was an ash?
Re: BGSU Sued Over Forrest Creason Golf Course
Most of the slUT dimwits can make that statement because they have never been in or on the main part of campus at BG. I thought you were so knowledgeable with all of your ties. I would be willing to bet that BGSU has more trees on campus than slUT does. How's that for a challenge?

Lighten up,fm. I'm well aware of the forestation of BG- hey, the golf course is named for a Forrest. Its a little joke, see? As for the bet, not sure how you'd quantify that or why you would even want to bet on something so mundane and silly but I suspect you'd lose. We've still got some pretty heavily forested acreage around campus but its not really something that I spend a lot of time thinking about. I was really making more fun of the UT folks who bring that up a lot. Sorry I touched a nerve.
Oh, and I don't own any ties- I mostly wear T-shirts to work.

Actually, I prefer to say they were killed by an overreaching government trying to control mother nature.factman wrote:Basically all of the ash trees in the midwest have been killed by the emerald ash bored!

It's sad that it takes a lawsuit to get something like this changed...at least I would hope he's made complaints to the University.

......actually it is sorta sad tha tsome attorney from Toledo can take up the cause that has been that way since the beginning og the golf course 50 years ago. There have been a number of tries to build a new clubhouse, but it never happened due to lack of money or interest.

I'm sure there is plenty of interest, but not the money. If the golf course were actually allowed to invest more of its income in the course itself, they could make improvements needed to upgrade the course. Instead, money has to be skimmed off the top to pay several layers of administration.factman wrote:......actually it is sorta sad tha tsome attorney from Toledo can take up the cause that has been that way since the beginning og the golf course 50 years ago. Like so many other other facilities on campus, they make major investments to build a place, and then put minimal efforts into maintaining it, and then several years down the line wonder what happened.
Remember, if you get rid of more part time staff and reduce classified staff, you can pay another administrator better.
