I'm a little late to the party on this, but I noticed that Spencer Schmitz is no longer on the baseball coaching staff. Akron baseball put out a press release in September touting his arrival as a "Volunteer Assistant" in their program. If he was a full-time, paid assistant coach at BGSU why would he go to another MAC program as a volunteer?
Anyone have the story?
