Bad Start at EMU

Post by Falconwriter »

If BG baseball is going to make its way back up, it needs to beat inferior teams -- and I would put EMU in that category. Yet BG goes on the road and drops the opener, 3-1, because of 3 unearned runs. The win was only the SIXTH overall for EMU...so this is not the kind of result you hope to get with such an opponent.

The series can still be salvaged if BG can win the final single games today and tomorrow.

I'll try to update this on Sunday after both games have been played.

Thanks...just came back to report. Final was 7-4. Some good bats today, and some decent pitching as well.

Rubber game tomorrow has been moved up to a noon start because bad weather is expected later in the day.

Some good pitching by Tyler Hays who pitched 5 innings (gets the win), David Stopp (had 3.1 pretty good innings) and Jeremy Spezia with his 4th save.

The Falcons had 14 hits...led by Dohanos, Wilson, Minorik, Furness and McGuiness, all with 2 hits.

The best part of those guys hitting is that 4 of 5 are local Ohio kids including 2 BG Natives. Nice to see us keeping talent at home

Falcons get shutout today 4-0 and lose the series 2-1.

Not much more to say. The schedule gets a lot harder from here on out.

If they want to make sure they're in the playoffs, they'll have to do much better than they did this weekend.
