Re: Women’s Soccer
Coach Fannon signed an extension through 2022. Great news for the program. He has really turned BG Women's Soccer around and would love to see him stay for the long haul.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Re: Women’s Soccer
The women began their season with a 3-3 draw against SEC-opponent Kentucky down in Lexington. All things considered, I think a road draw against a "P5" opponent (albeit not the most dominant program) is a great result.
Time to build on it and get better. Go Falcons!

Head coach Matt Fannon sounded disappointed. He spoke of mistakes by the Falcons and believes our team can play better. I like it.

That's good to hear. I'll admit, scoring a goal in the 83rd minute to go ahead, just to concede another goal in the 85th minute, has to be deflating. I'm sure the team feels like this is a game they should have won.Schadenfreude wrote:mbenecke wrote:The women began their season with a 3-3 draw against SEC-opponent Kentucky down in Lexington. Re: Women’s Soccer
With a 3-1 victory at Toledo this afternoon, BGSU women's soccer has clinched the MAC regular season title outright, and will serve as the #1 seed in the upcoming MAC tournament!
On Sunday at 1:00pm, they will host a quarterfinal match. If they advance, they will host the semifinals on Friday 11/8, and the championship will also be played in BG on Sunday 11/10. Great time to follow Falcon soccer - pack Cochrane Stadium like we did for last season's run!

No better way to win a title than beating Toledo. Love this.

Re: Women’s Soccer
And Falcons are in Championship game again after winning it all last year.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)
Re: Women’s Soccer
And the Falcons win the MAC! BGSU wins in penalty kicks after 2 overtimes, 3-1. Some awesome saves during the PKs by our keeper. Really love watching this team. Next up: NCAA Tournament!

In the first round of the NCAA tournament, our Falcons (14-5-3) will take on Michigan (15-5-1) in Ann Arbor. The winner will then play the winner of Texas Tech/Pepperdine.
