Archer Drafted by White Sox

Nathan Archer was taken by the Chicago White Sox in the 12th round of the MLB Draft today.

As an avid White Sox fan, my condolences to him and his family.

That draft slot will probably command about a $120k signing bonus. Not a bad day at the office. I'm assuming he signs, but he has eligibility, so I have to think it's at least a thought to either come back or transfer to a bigger program to see if you can't improve your draft position. (Assuming it still works that way)

He’ll sign…it’s very rare for picks to not sign now. Draft is down to 20 rounds…teams don’t draft guys until they are 99.9% sure bonus negotiations are settled. I don’t think Archer was in the transfer portal, so he doesn’t have leverage that he could get a large NIL offer from another school to transfer.
Hopefully Archer keeps getting better…he was really dynamic offensively until the last few weeks of the season. He really struggled down the stretch.
