I was fortunate enough to catch a couple matches last year. It was very exciting and fun. I have been playing volleyball since the mid 80s and have enjoyed much success at the open level.

Not sure this is common knowledge but Corey is a very good volleyball player. I coached him and his brother on their High School teams. Corey and I actually won a men's doubles tournament this past summer. It was a blast. (oh, don't tell his coaches....)

Volleyball runs in our family as my mother is still active in the sport. Three years ago she won a silver medal at the World games and the silver the following year at the US Open. She was playing in the 65-69 age group. She still plays very well.

I did get to one game already this year. On my way up to the Fall Sports Preview this past Saturday I stopped in Dayton to watch the Ladies play Dayton. Unfortunately they lost. It was a good effort but I didn't think they played well and felt they were the better team. I can see this team getting better and better as the year goes on. Once the setters get comfortable with and learn their hitters it will be lights out.

Good luck with your season and I will try and get to a few more matches this year. That Kent State match is looking good for sure.

Oh, sorry to mention this but I actually worked for many years with the father of the Blackburn girls for OU. Not sure if either of them are left there, but its time to take them down..

Go Falcons!
