BG has 2 on with 1 out in the 9th....one swing of the bat can tie this thing up!

Josh Stewart is batting....Tom Farmer leaves the game after facing 31 batters and allowing 4 hits and no runs. Darek Standfield in the game to pitch.

Stewart struck out looking...

So did Raszka. Game over. Season ends at 33-18. Very disappointing ending.

Well, we just could not get it going this morning. I feared we may have left a lot on the diamond last night against Ball State and going again this morning was going to be tough.

Miami beat WMU in extra innings, 9-5. The Redhawks scored 7 runs in the 9, 10 and 11 innings.

That turned out to be one helluva game. Miami wasn't going to be denied. Ryne Robinson stepped it up and got two hits, both turning into doubles, a run and an RBI all in the 9th and 11th. Speed kills.

Damn! What a sour ending to the season.....a shutout loss to Akron. I feel bad because we had a pretty good team this year. It was nice to get back into the MAC Tournament, it just would have been nice to at least win a game in the thing. Oh well, a good season with a disappointing postseason. Kinda sounds like basketball, doesn't it?

But, hats off to the guys, they put together a good season and hopefully we can pick up where we left off next season. But I really wish our administration would support baseball more at BG. I know there's plans to build a new facility building which will be a big help, I just wish when they renovated the facility a couple years ago that they would have done what schools like Miami, CMU and Ohio did by building a new ballpark. We gave our place a facelift which was nice, but those other places built very nice little ballparks and are much, much nicer. Right now, we're way behind. After cutting some of the recent sports a couple years ago, I was hoping to see it reflect stronger in the remaining sports that we have to make the teams and facilities better. We still have a long way to go. Bottom line is, we only have 16 sports now which I believe is mandatory for D-I schools. I say if you're going to have them, then make them good ones (program, facility, coaches, players).

Well, Virginia continues it's roll down here in the ACC Tournament and won again. Virginia and Georgia Tech are the only two undefeated teams right now......Miami and North Carolina, the ACC preseason #1 and #2, went 0-2 and are out.
GO BG!!!
