BG in the MAC Tournament thread
Re: BG in the MAC Tournament thread
Season is over. BG was no hit in the 6-0 loss.
Re: BG in the MAC Tournament thread
Ohio throws a no-hitter and ends it with a strikeout to end BG's season. Now that's the way a season ends with a thud. First no-hitter in MAC Tournament history. In fact, both OU pitchers threw complete games against us and we scored just 2 runs on 4 hits in 18 innings vs their pitching. Wow....
GO BG!!!
Re: BG in the MAC Tournament thread
OUTSTANDING pitching performance by Ohio in the tournament as OU wins the MAC Championship. The Bobcats allowed just five....FIVE....run in four games in the tournament and one of those games went 14 innings! That's remarkable. Hats off to Ohio and I hope they win a game or two in their Regional. If they get that kind of pitching in their Regional they'll be a very tough out.
GO BG!!!
Re: BG in the MAC Tournament thread
Ohio got a very tough draw. Playing Illinois at Champaign. Illinois #6 in nation. Won 47 games this season with 7 losses. And coming into the tournament angry after losing in the Big10 semis. Good luck kitties
Re: BG in the MAC Tournament thread
I actually think Ohio got placed in a good Regional all things considered. All four teams are Midwest schools and it's close enough for fans to travel. I know Illinois got a national seed but I don't think they are one of the top eight teams (or ten for that matter) in the country. Yes I know what their record is but stick them in the SEC or several other conferences and no way they come out with a record like that. If they advanced to Omaha and make a run there they'll change my opinion on them. That said, they do deserve to host a Regional and had an outstanding season. I wouldn't be surprised to see them win their Regional, but I also wouldn't be surprised to see them get knocked out. But if they advance they'd host a Super Regional and that's a huge step towards Omaha.gmartin wrote:Ohio got a very tough draw. Playing Illinois at Champaign. Illinois #6 in nation. As for Ohio, I think they'll represent the MAC well. What Kent State did winning a Regional, Super Regional and a game in Omaha a few years ago would be a dream season for 90% of schools out there. That was extremely exciting to see a MAC school get to the CWS. If OU can scratch out a win or make things interesting it'll be a success. But if they keep playing like they did in the MAC Tournament, you never know, it's why they play the games.
GO BG!!!
