Starts it at high-A Frederick, tonight with a

2-4, 1 R, 1 K

Nolan got his first homerun of the season today and then followed it up with his second in the same game. Nolan went 3 for 4, which even though the stats haven't been updated on the Frederick Keys' website, I'm pretty sure would give him a .429 batting average through 6 games.

Through 6 games he is batting .409 (9-22), 7 runs scored, 1 double, 2 homeruns, 4 RBI, 3 BB, 6 Ks, 3 SB, and 2 CS.


One advantage to working in MiLB is access to any minor or major leaguers day by day stats. I have all of his situational stats too- he is 6-7 when leading off (.857)m but 0-5 with runners in scoring position.

ooohh, I want more info. Is there a site for this or is it hard copy info? I like how the MiLB.com site expanded to the real time game logs for AAA.

If you can get me some situational stats for specific players, that would be great. PM if you can.

I noticed tonight that they have live boxes/logs for everything down to at least High-A (which is what we care about anyway, right? ) none of the fancy "gametracker" graphics, but updated box scores are fun, too.

I stand corrected, but I can't believe Reimold will be playing A ball much longer.

Not with those numbers he won't be. Keep it up for another week or two and he'll be packing his bags.

It's usually not that easy. In order for Nolan to make the move up to AA, they have to make a decision to either promote someone to AAA from AA and/or cut someone who isn't performing. Not even the best prospects make the jump a month into the season. That's just not fair to the other players ahead of him.

Also, you may have to look more into his offensive numbers. For example, a key stat to look at is BABIP. That's batting average on balls in play. I wish I had that number, but if his average is over .400 to .500 on every ball put in play, that could be a strong indication that he is getting quite lucky and his current average of .300 is slightly inflated.

Not to mention, Nolan is the second youngest player on his team. I find that a little surprising, but could be an indication on how poor the system is.

It's great that he has started out well, but it's a little early to say he deserves a call up to AA. No need to rush.

After sitting out Thursday's game and then going hitless on Friday, Reimold seems to have broken out of a mini-slump. His average dropped to .270 after Friday's game only to recover to .302 after a 3-4 and 2-3 with 2 BB performance Sat. and Sun.

Nolan's still in A ball? I thought he'd be on a AAA team by now. How far or long does Nolan have to go before he can get the chance to enter the Major's? I hear of 21 year-olds all the time playing in the Major's , so I didn't think that Nolan would be several years away from making it but that's what it looks like if he's still playing A ball.

Guess I gotta be a bit more patient than I originally thought.

Nolan should be playing AA at some point during the year, if he continues to hit well.

He went 3-4 last night with a HR and 2B, rasing his average to .320 and ranking third in the league in OPS.

Also, traditionally, the Carolina League is a pitchers league. So that makes it even more impressive, if true.
