We saw Burke pitch from the company suite at 5/3 Field recently. I yelled "Ay Ziggy Zoomba" during warmups. He nodded, looked up, nodded again, scattered 10 hits over 8 innings and won his 7th game. He's now 7-2 with a 3.01 ERA.

Perched from the company suite, I spotted the familiar Falcon head on a shirt down below. Turns out to be the Selgo brothers (Dick, Jim) and that rocket Tim (OK, but he's the AD at GVSU) and their friends from Archbold. I invited them up and we watched Burke pitch a gem - 7 inning shutout scattering 5 hits for his 10th win. White Caps won 10-0.

Burke needs to be moved up. He is probably one of the older players in the league and seems to have shown enough at the low A level. High A Lakeland is the next stop and he should probably given the rest of the year up (down) there.

He's had a very good season. I'm scratching my head, though. He's 23 and pitching a full season in low-A ball (mostly 19-21 year olds)? It's not like he hasn't proven that he can pitch well at this level and seems ready for a challenge. Though the H/IP is quite high.

Yeah, I was thinking it's about time for a move to Lakeland or Erie as well, but to be fair he has gone from West Michigan's #5 man to the undisputed ace of the staff. His WHIP has steadily improved, and he's been pitching much longer into games as of late. Perhaps the Tigers will move him up faster next year, that is if he continues what's he's been doing. They almost have to looking at Burke's age.

Ended with a 3.00 ERA and didn't walk a batter in his last 17 Innings.
