BG Baseball opens in 24 days at MTSU.

How's the outlook for 2007?

Yes, I will be making the trip! Wouldn't miss it. How about Senior Freak?
I was sorry I didn't get to talk to him more last year.
Here is the schedule for the Bradenton trip if anyone is going to be in the area for Spring Break.
All of the games are played at the IMG Academy in Bradenton this year.
Sat 3/03 vs Georgetown @ 2:30pm
Sun 3/04 vs IPFW @ 1:30pm
Mon 3/05 vs Northeastern @1pm
Tues 3/06 vs Georgetown @1pm
Wed OFF
Thur 3/08 vs Valpariso (DH) 10am
Fri 3/09 vs IPFW 10am
Sat 3/10 vs N Iowa 10am
It should be an interesting year, with a great deal riding on the success of the pitching staff (doesn't it always). Tyler Johnson should be a solid #1 starter, and then it will be a dogfigt for the other starting slots, out of a lot of candidates, and I think a couple of the freshmen might have a chance for a lot of playing time at positions.

I will make sure he knows the sked so he can check out a game or two. As the trip gets closer, I'll get you his cell # again. We are taking the Freaklings to Tampa but not until 3/30.

The IMG Acacedmy is easy to find. It is in Bradenton, just a few blocks south of Cortez Ave, which is the main drag going out to the beach. You can do a search for IMG Academy, and they have directions on their website.
You might be surprised who you see walking around campus, espceially professional athletes, as many of them work out there. A couple of years ago Peyton manning and his brother Eli were working out there to get Eli ready for the draft. Almost all of the professional tennis players have spent some time there, along with a ton of pro golfers. It is quite an operation. If you ask anyone in the area, they willl be able to give you directions, once you are in Bradenton, which is about an hour south of Tampa, and close to Sarasota.

You are an easy 2hours away in Lakeland and Winter Haven. The Reds and Pirates training camps are only a few miles from the IMG Academy. We went to Lakeland(Tigere), Winter Haven(Indians), and a Pirates games last year, in addition to EIGHT BG games.

Two fields at IMG and one across the street at Manatee CC. BG is playing all of their games at IMG.

Can't believe 12 days until first game of the season for BG. I wish I could make it down to Middle Tenn. I google earthed the stadium and was pretty impressed. Does BG always open in Tenn.? What's the weather in BG like at the beginning of the season? Are there usualy a lot of cold, snow, and rain outs?
