Poor guys...I really do feel bad for them. I hope they keep the coach around another year, he needs another shot! Just think, they could win em all next year and have the biggest turn around ever

I feel so bad for the BG men's soccer team. Not too long ago, the were a ranked team. Now, they finished winless! Man I hope they can bounce back next season.
I'm on the other end of the spectrum in men's soccer down here at Virginia. I'm the SID for the men's soccer team here at UVa and we are currently ranked #2 in the country. UVa is 14-2-0 overall with a game this weekend. Virginia men's soccer is along the lines of what Oklahoma or Florida State is to football. Virginia has won five NCAA national championships since 1989, has made 23 consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament, has won 13 ACC Championships including one last season that I got a beautiful ACC Championship wring for. Virginia is also a pipeline of players to the MLS. There are about a dozen guys right now in the MLS from Virginia and several guys who are on the U.S. World Cup and Olympic Teams. Alecko Eskandarian,, who is with DC United right now, won the Hermann Trophy (equal to the Heisman Trophy) and was the #1 pick in the MLS SuperDraft two years ago. If you are a soccer fan, and I know there aren't a whole lot of them in the states, you need to see at game at Virginia. Check out this link, here are some pictures of the soccer stadium here at Virginia:

Makes you wonder if they really should have let Mahler go.

I think Coach Thompson is a good coach but just needs to figure out the system. With the team winning the exhibition games, you know he has the ability to coach. Sure they went 0-18 or whatever after that, but since this is his first year, I'm going to cut him some slack and hope for the best next season. I just hope the players still respect him even after a bad season like this.

I think there were some rough feelings on both sides. I don't know the whole story but if I remember correctly it wasn't very pretty.

I recall the local paper implied there were harsh feelings, things said. The only feel for it I got is that if they let him go, it must have been a big-if private-deal.
In any case, he's gone, the team performed lousy, and after a year that bad, you may not fire a guy, but you are sure to watch things in detail the next year.

You, you tool, You're home school, I think home schooled kids are typically tools, and not up to speed on most things. One of your first posts on this site was to come and slam at BG team. Bad move for some one not affiliated with the University. Then you later proceed to slam a University official you have no experience with, other then you went to Pres Day open house. If you claim to be a BGSU fan, don't make one of your first posts slamming a BG sport.
