BG lost to Buffalo yesterday, 2-1, after blowing a 1-0 lead in the top of the ninth. Tyler Johnson pitched a masterful game...8 and 1/3 innings giving up 6 hits and striking out 5. However, Buffalo scored 2 runs in the top of the ninth after Adam Grumpf came on in relief and stole the game. :x :x

Game 2 is today at 1. Falcons are now 18-30, 4-18 MAC.

It was worse to be there... :(
The runs both came in on a botched try to take down the lead runner at home plate. The toss went wide of the catcher and both runs came in to score. BG was threatening at the end, but a very VERY close out call at first ended the game. I'm still pretty sure I don't agree with the call, but hey, I was a lot farther away and not much is going to change it now.

Mike,
I was on campus for a leadership conference, and, while on my way over to check the progress on the SEBO, saw the Saturday baseball game was about to start... backtracked over and saw the 1st 3 innings..BG was up 3-0 when I left...according to the website, we won 9-7, so a lot obviously happened after I left....but a win is a win, something this team has had a hard time doing recently.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)

Well, as every other MAC series but one has gone, BG has lost yet another. This time to Buffalo. The Bulls beat the Falcons 14-3 in the rubber match to take the series from us. BG is now 5-19 in the MAC. :smt100

*sigh*

19-31, 5-19 MAC. Falcons travel to Rochester, MI, to play Oakland Tuesday afternoon. BG will end the season with a 3 game series vs Ohio U next weekend.

I don't think I've ever wanted to see a school year end for sports like this one. From football to men' soccer to men's hoops to hockey to baseball...it has just been a snakebitten year.

On the bright side, our men's teams can only go up...one would think.
