Well so much for Brooks Mohr saving the Falcons. He signed with the Mariners for 27th round money. Personally I don't understand this but to each their own.

Especially interesting, since the Mariners didn't even mention it on their "official" website, but are talking about there #1 pick that signed today too, who is also a RHP. I did see the mention in USA Today. I hope he got alot more money than most 27th rounders, because he just lost ALL of his bargaining power.

One player does not a turn around make.

Never easy losing a kid right before school starts. He has some ability, but he would have been smart to go to school. Unless, he signed for $250-300,000.

He signed for $90,000!!!!!!! Barely worth a new car when he pays taxes etc.
A BAD decision in my opinion.

It is always interesting, because even when the professional team offers to pay for college a LARGE percentage never finish their degree. That is why many time it is a throw in, because they know they probably won't have to pay for it. I don't know if Mohr had that included or not, but it is doubtful as a 27th rounder.
I do know that they (his closest advisor

) said he would not sign for less than $170,000 plus college right after the draft. Ooops!!!

I believe they are starting the interview process this week with three candidates.
