Make it a complete "skin the Bobcats" weekend - prior to the BG / Ohio U football game this Saturday, the 12th ranked BGSU Rugby team will take on Ohio University at the College Park Rugby Field on Poe Road Across from the Wood County Airport. Gametime is 1pm with two matches scheduled.

Never seen a game? Then it is time to take one in as BG opens the Midwest regional playoffs of the National Collegiate championship against Ohio Univ. This match will also serve as the MAC Champiuonship game with both teams coming in undefeated in MAC play. BG is now 30 - 1 and has won the MAC every single year since 1982!!!!!!

Whoa! Josh and I will be the only ones making the trip to BG this weekend from the Freak Nest. I will ask Josh if he's interested cuz I would love to stop by for an hour. All that means is we leave Akron an hour earlier.

We've been watching the World Championships (is that what it's called?) on TV lately. I think England beat France and then South Africa beat England for the title? I hope I got that right. That is one ROUGH and TOUGH game, there. Looks like a blast to watch in person.

Hopefully we'll see some of the action before heading over to the Doyt. How long are the matches?

GO BG RUGBY!!!! #11 in the NATION...how sweet. BG has won the MAC every year since 1982????? I don't care what sport at what level...THAT is VERY impressive!

I know the rugby team has a decent little setup out by Poe and College, but how cool would it be to have the ability to play this one at the practice fields by DLP? Tailgating could start (for those of you not stuck at the office. :( ) at 9am leading up to rugby, catch both games with the grills and coolers out, then still have a couple hours to enjoy the first win(s) over OU before the football team finishes things off? :-D

Probably just the alcoholic in me talkin, huh?

Probably, you communist lush. :-D Actually, that sounds like a great idea. Are the goal posts the same height for rugby as football?

Is coach Maz still running the show for BG Rugby? I had the opportunity/pleasure of playing rugby my senior year. I thought football was a tough sport, but rugby takes the prize on that. That's a great program with great people.
