Gymnastics Wins!

by It's the Journey...
The women's gymnastics team headed to Brown University this weekend and came away with wins over the other 4 competing teams! The Falcons scored a 191.475 and move to 5-1 (1-0) on the season. Despite the win it looked like BG continued to struggle on beam with a 47.900 and could not stay on the bars, only scoring a 47.250. Keep in mind that I consider anything under a 48.00 as struggling. Floor was ok at 48.000 and vault looked like it was solid with a score of 48.325. A win is a win, but I think this team is capable of scoring in the 194.00 range once they get some more consistency. In the All-Around competition Breanne Guy took first place with a score of 38.475 and Morgan Balzer finished fourth with a 38.000. The Falcons head to Kent on Sunday for the All-Ohio Championship meet. Along with BG, Kent State and Ohio State will be competing for bragging rights. Both Kent State and Ohio State are scoring in the mid 193.000 range and our Falcons will have to put together the best meet of the season to come away with the bench. The link below has the results from the Brown University athletic page. I am sure bgsufalcons.com will have some sort of recap up in the future but i'm not holding my breath.

Go Falcons! Beat the Flashes and the Buckeyes!

GREAT NEWS!
I was wondering what was happening. Didn't even think of looking at the competitions web site for the info.
Nice job Breanne!

AWESOME LADIES! Keep it up!
Guy is a Soph, if I recall. That means that she was born when I was beginning my BG career.

Very Cool!!!
This is the first paragraph of an article written about the meet. The rest of the article highlighted Brown and the other east coast teams. But this part was very cool!
=========
Bowling Green, Bridgeport, MIT, West Chester visit Brown
By David F.P.
(Scores from eyewitness accounts, and Troester.)
When the five teams met at the Pizzitola Sports Center sitting on a hill above downtown Providence, there would be many highs, and lows, but among the successes should be considered that a crowd of so many people came out amidst very difficult snow conditions to see these athletes perform. The Brown parents, and fans were there in force, including a very vocal cheering section, certainly a rival for Yale in enthusiasm, but
also present was a downright massive Bowling Green fan contingent, many clad in the bright orange of the Falcons. Bowling Green did have a few gymnasts from the area, but even so it was a very large visiting crowd.

This is in part what he was describing!!!

I wish I could take credit for this picture. In truth I ask another person to take it for me. I was busy with preparing my daughter for ACL surgery, which took place Monday at the Cleveland Clinic. So although my wife was instrumental in pulling all of this together (distributing/mailing shirts and such), in the end we couldn't go
We only have three more home meets and I hope we can pull some big crowds for all three of them. Particualrly the last two in Anderson. We want those to be huge!!!!!! Anyone who reads this please add those last two meets in Anderson to your calendar. And bring as many friends as you can round up!!!!!
