Falcon Volleyball Tradition Continues to Grow
Susan Isphording will join the Orange and Brown on the court for the 2008 season
Feb. 12, 2008
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University volleyball head Coach Denise Van De Walle and the Falcons announced that Susan Isphording will join the Falcons for the 2008 season. Isphording, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio is a four-time Sandusky Bay Area All-Conference first team selection, a four-time OHSVCA All-District selection, a four year letter winner at Huron High School, and a two-time All-Ohio honoree.
Isphording captained the Tigers to their fourth consecutive first place finish with 14-0 season in the Sandusky Bay Conference and an overall 24-3 record with a Regional runner up finish this past season. As a senior Isphording terminated her 1,000th kill as a Tiger, etching her name in the Huron High School record books good for the second most kills with 1,282 career kills and first as the all-time dig leader with 975 career digs.
Isphording is a member of the National Honor Society, the editor of the year book, and was apart of the homecoming court in 2006 and 2007.
"I am so excited to have Susie with us next year," said BGSU Head Coach Denise Van De Walle. "She is a great person with tremendous passion for the game. She reminds me a lot of our senior Elizabeth Simon in her work ethic and drive to excel. With Simon finishing her career, it's nice to have someone come in and pick up where she left off. Susie is the type of player that makes players around her better. She pushes hard and is an intense competitor. Having led her High School team to four consecutive undefeated conference championships, she has proven she knows how to win. We're very fortunate to have her here."
GO BG!!!!!
