Well, after a half-complete weekend of MAC baseball action, here’s where things stand in the conference. Two series that jumped out at me were, Ohio taking two of three at CMU and Toledo taking two of three at Miami. I’m actually surprised the OU/CMU series was able to be played considering the weather that moved in over the northern area but I’m sure the playing surfaced helped them get it in. The BG at WMU, KSU at EMU and BSU at UA series were all cancelled. The NIU at UB series was moved to St. Bonaventure. I’m still left scratching my head as to why the opening MAC series featured home sites at all the Michigan schools and Buffalo??? It was over 20 degrees warmer in Oxford for the UT/Miami series than any place in Michigan over the weekend. Yeah, I know it could still snow if the southern parts of the MAC as well, but I’ll take my chances. Places like Athens and Oxford should be hosting opening weekend series, followed by Muncie, Kent or Akron over any of the directional Michigan schools or Buffalo IMO.
BG needs to be ready for NIU this weekend because NIU just took it to UB this weekend winning 10-3, 17-1 and 6-4.
