In every one of the series played this weekend, the end result was a sweep. BG swept NIU (3-0), OU swept WMU (3-0), EMU swept MU (3-0), BSU swept KSU (3-0) and UB swept CMU (2-0). The UA vs. UT series was cancelled. The number of games after two weeks varies, but here's the standings after two MAC series:

MAC EAST
BOWLING GREEN, 3-0
Ohio, 5-1
Buffalo, 2-3
Miami, 1-5
Akron, 0-0
Kent State, 0-3

MAC WEST
Eastern Michigan, 3-0
Ball State, 3-0
Toledo, 2-1
Northern Illinois, 3-3
Central Michigan, 1-4
Western Michigan, 0-3

Next Weekend's MAC Series:
Central Michigan at BOWLING GREEN
Ohio at Toledo
Kent State at Northern Illinois
Western Michigan at Miami
Eastern Michigan at Akron
Buffalo at Ball State

Wow...Kent State getting swept by Ball State was kinda shocking...never hurts to see the Flashes start in the hole. :-D

I agree. To me, there have been several surprising starts for teams thus far. Granted, the MAC season is only two weekend series old (and most are less than that due to the weather) but preseason MAC favorite Kent State getting swept at home is tops for me too. Especially with some of the arms they have on that club. Also, MAC West preseason favorite CMU (who BG has up next) starting out 1-4. What’s more, Miami starting out 1-5. On the other side of the surprises, Ohio starting out at 5-1 after series wins over CMU (won two of three in Mt. Pleasant) and WMU (swept a Broncos team that has been playing very well). I’ve also got to put our Falcons up there too with the sweep of NIU. NIU just swept UB last weekend on the road (and UB just beat CMU in a doubleheader this past weekend) and the Huskies were picked to finish second in the MAC West.

Oh wow...the Kent / Ball State series was in Kent?? I didn't realize that. That's even better.

Kent was definitely picked to do some serious damage this season.

And what makes all this even better, is that we have the Flashes at home for a 3 game set on Arpil 18-20th. Keep plugging away and then take at least 2 out of 3 - :D
