Volleyball lost to Ohio Saturday, 3-1. BG won the first set but it was all downhill from there. Gotta say Im a little surprised, i thought we would pull it out riding our momentum. With the loss BG falls one game out of first place in the East. I want to think we still have a chance but we would have to win our last two and Ohio would have to lose their last two. If Ohio loses one, Im not sure how tiebreakers go for volleyball, because head-to-head this year it is 1-1. Thoughts?

In volleyball when the teams spilt the season series the tiebreaker is decided by how many sets it took to beat the other team. Ohio has the tiebreaker over us because we beat them in 5 sets in the first meeting but OU beat us in 4 sets in the second meeting.

We do however have the tiebreaker over Miami, as in the match we won against them we swept them while in the match they won they beat us in four sets. Now if us and Miami win out and OU loses one match then its a three way tie, and I'm not sure how that would play out as we have the tiebreaker over Miami, Miami has the tiebreaker over OU, and OU has the tiebreaker over us

Hmmmmm. That would definitely be interesting. Would they maybe take the team with the best overall record? That would most likely be us....

In my totality unbiased opinion  I think they should decide a possible 3-way tie by giving the #2 seed in the tourney to the one team of the three that beat the regular season champ Western Michigan  :-D

Well i found out today that if ohio loses, there would be a three-way tie for the title. We would all three be called, "MAC champions". But we would get the number 2 spot due to the fact that we beat the top team, western michigan.
